Found another dog..

I just found a pit puppy.. I think I know the 'owners'... they're breeders, and this poor girl was on a busy street running around... She has tar everywhere.. I went to pet her and she rolled over and screamed.. now she just ducks her head like I'm going to hit her. She's a sweet girl, I wish I could keep her, her parents are beautiful dogs.. too bad these idiots are breeding them. I've gotten most of the tar off in those pics.

I like pitts. i like most all dogs. I feel sorry for pitts the most. They have such a bad rep because the people who keep them are stupid. They are very popular here which is a sad thing. The reason why it's sad is because most people seem to treat them like a novelty item rather than a pet.
As for the guy using his lab to torture other dogs, I'd call the law and make them aware of what he is doing. I never call the police, but I think that's a good reason. In most places that I know of it is illegal to use dogs in an act of violence. Same as it is to commit an act of violence. It's also illegal to fight dogs, and to torture animals. I'm pretty sure what he is doing falls under at least one of those.
 
This poor girl... She can't stand being touched sometimes and bites. Either she was being hurt or was not around people.. Animal control just got her, the guy said that because of her age, they'll put her through training for a few months before adopting her out.

I would, but since it's been so long since that happened they might not do anything.. If he ever does anything else I will.
 
Did that pup have a lot of scars. Might have been a bait dog.
 
Nope, she had a few small cuts, and loved our dogs. I told animal control who I thought the owner was, and he said he would be checking them out, because their adults probably were not up to date on shots, or had city tags. Neither did any of their puppies.. And if the rest of them are in as bad shape as this puppy was they might lose them.
 
Sad...I used to have a dog, but I had to give him away to a good friend when I moved...Pit bulls get a bad rep, but they are actually very sweet, just about any dog is! No dog is born mean, some may be dominant, but never mean! Unlike humans, animals are never cruel to other animals without a reason.
 
that's terrible I just can't understand how people can be so stupid. These animals are in our care for life. It is our job to care for and feed, these animals are not a piece of furniture to just be set aside. They need to be walked, fed, loved, played with taken to parks to be socialized as that's just to start. :mad::mad::mad:

Exactly.. I cannot believe these people who had this pup, I asked them if they were missing a puppy and they replied "Yeah, but we couldn't get much for it (IT!?) anyway because she was skinny and dirty(meaning the tar coating her and her little belly), we'll have more in a few months though"

Poor baby. I hope they got stopped. But they will prob just find another place to do their breeding. you cant change people like that. I love dogs and while I agree there are no bad dogs, only bad owners, we had a 1/2 Rott, Akita-Chow mix female for quite a few years. She was a wonderful family dog (with kids in the house) but she absolutely hated small children. she would froth at the mouth and do whatever she could to get at them. We could never figure out why, we had her from 7 weeks old and she was never abused - it was like a little twig snapped in her brain and she went off (at about 3-4 yrs old). We finally had to rehome her- she was a huge liability....she went to someone w/ lots of property....sometimes you cannot tell what genetics will factor in....
