Found another dog..

i hate how people can be cruel to animals and not give a crap.

oh gosh... I hope they have a breeders permit.... worth checking out at least and might be worth checking if they have kennels on the property.

I spoke to the man from animal control about them, and he said he would be checking them out.

They don't, it's a backyard about 20' by 30' filled with trash, and a large dog house for both of their adults.
I have no idea why there is tar all in their yard, but it is obviously not safe for the dogs, much less puppies.

I'm sure they don't, most people here don't, they get these dogs and breed them, no matter the temperament or condition, to make money.
Since the only money they spend on the dogs would be their food, which the puppies didn't seem to be getting enough of anyway or were sick, then they're only profiting from breeding. A GOOD breeder does not make money, they breed for temperament, and breed standard.

Any idea on what to do with a hoarder, DD? XP
Animal control says they do not handle these things.
I don't know what will happen to the owner, she is an older lady who lives with her son(who is a police officer) in a 2 bedroom 1 bath half of a duplex.
I have known her for years, and recently her polulation has gotten to a horrible number, in this tiny plave she has at least 50-60 cats, and told me that 12 kittens died in a week from being under her bed, because it is so nasty.

And to make it worse, she has taken cats from people, the last one was a fixed male who wandered into her yard, I told her who we belonged to, and she said he obviously was being neglected because he ate at her house, and now he's stuck in it.

I also know that is they are all taken, it will be on the news, her son may lose his job and cats who aren't very social will likely be put down.. She has my cat's neice, my friend's old cat, and 'took in' 6 cats and 5 kittens, who have all had more litters since, from a house behind her.

Who can I contact about this?

Animal control should have at least offered to help you find out who is responsible for these things.
Try this link and put in your zip. It should offer up places near you to call.
If not try your local humane society.

The HSUS should definitely be able to help. If there is so much garbage there, I wonder if there is feces all over the place. If there is and it is in the house, it could be considered a health hazard and the house could be marked for demolition. Placing a cal with the HSUS and maybe your local news might get things rolling. Tjhis woman has no right to keep other people's animals.... suppose the animal simply escaped the house one day and crossed the yard by her (a cat)? Tough luck?

DD is right! Here's another link with some stories of their accomplisments.

Just enter hoarding into the search box.
It's hard to imagine putting animals through these horrible conditions. I could never imagine living in them myself.

Just found a chihuahua, thankfully he had his tags stating he was UTD on his shots and his number.. His owners cried the whole time I told them he was okay and where to get him. Sparkles loved him.. And she hates most dogs.
