Good Beginner Beer

I'm not a big drinker... but here are the beers I enjoy if I am actually going to have one:

Blue Moon is really good honestly, especially with a few orange slices. Maybe your best bet for a beginner beer, load it up with orange slices if you don't like it, lol.

This is dark and has more of a bite to it, but I really like Amberbock, I just think it has a nice flavor.

My mom also HATES HATES HATES beer, but she enjoys dos equis (may have spelled that wrong).

I love a good stout. Guiness on tap is a passable example but I'd look into local microbreweries for better, I was spoiled by a few on the Oregon coast. It's like drinking liquid bread :D

Keep away from the Cheap Ales (PBR, Coors, and those 13.99 for a 30 pack beers) Leinkugual Berry Weiss has the aftertaste like fruity pebbles, in fact the entire Leinkugal line is pretty good and light, If you can find a liquor store that stocks microbrews near you, there is all kinds of possibility. My friend who normally hates beer loves Mad Dog (I think thats the brand) Blueberry beer. I my self am a stout drinker, I don't drink it if I can see through it. Guinness, Poet, all tasty.

have a cup of tea or have a nice shandy u may laff but its nice an refreshing an u can add as much lemonade as u like but make sure u use bitter beer an not a lager

Beginner beer? I wonder if I am drinking professional beer yet?

People that drink dont have a drinking problem, People that drink till they cant walk or see straight every day have a drinking problem.

Please dont start drinking because you feel the pressure to do so, I like the taste of a nice cold beer, and that is the only reason anyone should be drinking anything, is because they enjoy it, not because they want to get drunk or something.

Having said that, I'll put it this way..
the darker the color of the beer is, the more bitter it will taste.
Budwieser is made from rice, and has a sweet taste to it, that i just dont like.
Some of the smaller name beers and microbrews are good, but they are expensive.

I think the most popular beer in the USA is Miller Lite.
I prefer MGD, Lite gives me heartburn after just 1 beer.
I lont like to have to assemble my beer, like pour into a glass, then squeeze in a lime, and then get salt, and then.. BAH!! thats too much work..

Bottom line is this, drink what you like, dont drink what people think you should like, or what dont drink what everyone else is drinking just to fit in.

if your drink is Pepsi, the so be it..

but if your drink is pepsi and Milk, well then you are a little wierd..

It's my beer of choice, as well. Good all around beer that doesn't spank your wallet too much.

I have made a few batches of my own beer I enjoy a strong hop flavor. I would say Hazed and Infused by Boulder Beer Company is my beer of choice. I think a very cold summer ale would be a good start, Sam Summer is good, maybe a Bluemoon with a slice of orange. There are so many beers try what sounds good to you, there are beers with citrus flavors and many beers with different fruit flavors.

I buy about a case of beer a year, I would say half of it is used for cooking.
I would advise you to experiment untill you find what you like. DO NOT DRINK BECAUSE SOMEBODY TELLS YOU TO!!!

I used to love ice cold Coors back when you had to live in Colorado or bordering state to get it. Once it went nationwide it just wasn't as good in my opinion.

I think the best idea given to you is to sample different kinds. You may not like the taste no matter what. Certainly don't judge all beers by just one brand. They run from flavorless kool-aid to a knock-your-socks-off type and everything in between. American beer is far from being a truly good beer due to limits imposed on it. But it'll do.
