Good Beginner Beer

Man Law: Don't Fruit the Beer!!

Or the liquor!

I like to keep it simple. I don't want flavors added, or the need to add lime or salt. If the taste of the beer can't stand on its own then I don't need to drink it. I could make vomit edible with the right seasonings but doesn't mean I want to eat it.

Budweiser
IceHouse

Just make sure they are cold.

There are so many different beers out there, and all of them are good in thier own right. If someone didnt think they were good they wouldnt be on the market. I like the idea of trying a few and seeing what you like, then telling us, and we can recomend others in the same cattegory you may also like.

I dont understand the people who targeted "american" beers as being worthless. They have thier place. (the style of clear lagger is actually attributed to middle european monks who used a yeast that ferments in cooler conditions. Lagger is actually a german word "to store". When beers were stored in cool lagerhausen during the summer it was noticed they would clear of sediment and decrease the ammounts of certain byproducts making the beer flavor more subtle.)

My favorite beer is budweiser. I do not drink daily or regularly and am in no way an alcoholic. It is good (to me) because it is not over-flavored. It could be like the difference between an inexpensive white wine and a rare merlot. Not everyone would like to have a flavor explosion with each sip. I love a lager ice cold on a hot day. Although I do like all types of beer, I can't stand a rich dark beer on a hot day. But I love one on a snowy winter night next to a warm fire.:FIREdevil:

Try some boddingtons, It's good stuff in a yellow can.

Dos Equis with lime...mmmmmm...

I was deeply disturbed by some earlier posts-- most notably the ones suggesting that the current Yuengling supply was somehow of inferior quality. Rest assured, people--I have taken it on my shoulders. I tried several this evening and I am almost certain that it was the same Yuengling we remember and love. Never can be too sure, though. Second test pending... :)

I don't know- maybe they are sending the defective batches of Yuengling to Hazleton. Lately it has tasted like an alumimum can (even in the glass quarts). I have sampled it several times using bottled Warsteiners for a comparison. Still not tasting like I remember (have been drinking it for 20+ years). When I go to take the civil service test in Harrisburg on the 21st I will have to try the Yuengling down there . Do you remember the little keg style bottles of Yuengling Premium? - we use to call them little brown hand grenades. Think I need to switch to one of Yuengling's other fine products- Black and Tan.

I've heard of this Yuengling stuff before, but since I live in California I've never had the chance to try it.

Perhaps when I'm in Miami for 4 hours next month I can find a bar in the airport that has some.

Yea- there's a reason the forum has some guidelines on specific topics that are supposed to be left outside the forum. =(
