I have a Blue Ram in my community tank of yellow rainbows, bala, neons, phantoms, mollies, platies. He is a very peacful fish. They are fun to watch. It reminds me of a humming bird, except in the water. They make quick movements, but make dead stops. They don't gradually stop like most fish. I've heard kribs do well in community tanks to, but I don't have any experience with them. Both are dwarf cichlids.

A angel or two would do well in your 29. They are peacefull unless you happen to get a breeding pair who will tend to be more aggressive when spawning.

:D

blue rams and angels i would suggest for peaceful cichlids but some angels can be a lil fin nippy but then again so can tiger barbs so i guess you'll have that.

If you can find them, Honduran Red Points are great. They look similar in morphology to a convict, however mine are very mild mannered, and have simply amazing coloration. Mine are living with some tetras, and even with fry in the tank, they keep to themselves. I hear they also don't grow as large as a convict.

Blue rams, bolivian rams, apistogramma, butterfly cichlids, kribensis pulcher... there may be others...

cool..thanks guys.the rams look nice are there others?

oh and alsmot forgot my uncle is breeding angels..I was wondering...how many gallons of water does one need?

If you're not set on the 29g, consider a standard 30g. It's only one extra gallon, but has 6in of extra length. I went with the 29 because of budget restraints, and have regretted it ever since.

Blue Rams
Bolivian Rams
Latecara curviceps
Keyhole cichlid
Apistogramma species (my favorite)

I've kept both the rams, and apistos in a 29g with angel fish (the dwarfs above are mainly bottom oritiented, and the angels learn to stay high). Just be careful about other bottom dwellers. Even these dwarfs are territorial, and some will not tolerate corie cats. Pick only one species, and do not get more than one male. Good Luck

postrely

A pair of convict cichlids if you buy a 30 gallon aquarium. They are easy to breed and fun to watch. No other fish in the aquarium though, they are very aggressive during breeding time.
