I agree, but don't think for one minute this is a good practice. I would only suggest it for rift lake cichlids and fish that generally live in crowded populations. This is not the case in gouramis.
If I was not adult, please show me an example. I made a post to someone that solicited advice on a PUBLIC messageboard and consistantly ignored it in numerous threads. So, you may have made your life revolve around other people's posts. That's cool...whatever interests you, it's all good. But to take the initiative to become the 'post police' is a bit much. Perhaps youneed another hobby to soak up some of your extra time?RyJ said:Ya, it certainly is 'mature' of you guys to get upset and fight with someone over the internet. Definitely is setting a good example for some of the 'younger' posters.
I'm glad to know that you are very passionate about your fish keeping. I too think that fish deserve to be treated properly, just like any other animal. However this is a public message board. Regardless if you 'think' someone is being dumb...please be the 'adults' that you are, and treat that person with respect.
If he is just looking for that one answer he wants to see, then that is unfortunate for him, as he will keep running into problems. You told him what he needs to know.....now give it up!
If you wish to complain about how animals are treated (because I've seen fish treat FAR worse), write a letter to a government official or something. Being ignorant toward someone on a PUBLIC message board accomplishes nothing and is very annoying to read. It's counter-productive.
Some of you may have made your life revolve around fishkeeping. That's cool...whatever interests you, it's all good. But to take the initiative to become these 'fish police' is a bit much. Perhaps you need another hobby to soak up some of your extra time?

EDIT: When people ask for opinions... they tend to get them. Just because they're not yours doesn't make them any less "adult" or productive than your own. That's called aa straw man and it won't hold up.
