I checked the levels in my soon to be guppy tank ( I had been using 3 raspora hets to cycle it, and since they were fine i decided to go ahead and dive right in to go ahead and set up the tank for the guppies. I went with a simple ten gallon, aqua-clear filter, pre-set heater and all kinds of plants. I put 3 females and 3 males in. (I know the ratio for live-bearers should be 2 females per male, but i just forgot for a second when i was netting them) They are doing fine so far. All three of the females were pregnant when i got them (no surprise) and one of them looks like she's about ready to pop, So im gonna unanchor some of my plants and let them float to the top so they fry have a chance at life. I also just need to make my aquarium look prettier, it's kind of bland right now. More plants, and a background, me thinks.
...and yes, you're right, these things are only good at two things. but that's why we love them, right?
10 gallons
6 guppies
...soon to be over a hundred guppies.
does anyone know how many i can expect to live after mom and dad stop eatin' them?
out of 40-50 them mom releases, how many will make it to adult hood if i dont seperate them?
