has anyone else had problems w/ aquaticmagic?

I stick to domestic sources, I like getting my plants in 2-3 days at the most. Plus the second benefit of buying from a hobbyist, is that plant is already grown submerged, with most retailers selling you the emerged farm version.

I placed a large order with them in December. Nothing ever showed up. Finally, they shipped out a new order - it got lost in the mail too. Took 3 months to get my money back. I won't bother with that seller again.

Meanwhile, I have purchased plants and moss from others - Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand. Those packages got here within 2 weeks. No problems at all, and no need for express upgraded shipping charges that AQ was asking for.

Edit: By way of explanation, I guess, I did get a message from them saying they were experiencing difficulties with shipping to the United States. But I don't see any slowdown in their advertising for even more US customers.

I bought a nano diffuser from them, that doesn't work for .... and it took forever to get here! When it did, it was in this little tiny plastic container with a little tape around it and a small label. I'm surprised I got it at all and that it didn't get lost. Now, when I look through anything fishy related on ebay, I turn on the "North America Only" option, so I don't even see their auctions. I wouldn't buy plants from overseas, anyway, personally.

I had the same problem but they quickly shipped me another. Then on a whim I soaked the diffuser in 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water solution for 24 hours and then hooked it up to the CO2 supply bingo started working. You can not run air thru them to test you will have to run CO2 and it could take up to 48 hours on a non pressureized system to start bubbling.

I have ordered a couple of times for supplies and have recieved my stuff in a timely manner.

I got my plants today.
Took 9 days from the day I sent payment to the day I received my plants.

Here's what I got

Last time I heard about them, they were under flack for shipping plants without proper permits and such. I guess they mislabeled plants as other items to sneak them through customs.

Most places are doing that, depending on the shipment. But that would explain the problems they're having. Those missing packages are being confiscated at Customs. Maybe it's a crackdown on that particular company.

prob best to email them and ask. things can take a long time its the risk you take when ordering from over seas. lets keep the hate posts off here.

This isn't s "hate post". I honestly want to pay for and recieve the items I ordered.

YES, as a matter of fact at about 2 AM this morning.
I purchased three items. I was sent an invoice for two items.
Their website stated that I could pay with Paypal OR a major credit card.
I kept screwing around trying to pay with a credit card and somehow I entered
“I will pay later”
I emailed cust. svc. and explained that I hadn’t been invoiced for all three items and that I wanted to pay by a credit card.
I received an email from “Christine” asking for my Paypal email address.
It looked (s) like I’m going to cet a credit to my account. I haven’t paid yet.
I sent her my email address and explained that I haven’t paid them yet and this is the email that was sent back to me:

Quote “Thanks. Request has been send.

Let us know if any other help required.

Thank
Christine” End quote

It is obviously a language problem.

I think all emails come from the name "Christine"

I have great communications in the past and actually my last questions got the same type of responses as you did.. I think they use the same name when they are actually different people to make communications sound more personal..

$4 and $6 for a plant shipped, you can't beat that price. It's $4, I really don't care if it takes 2 months to get a order at that price, I like surprises in the mail.

Shipping takes for ever, Christine is the main person, possibly the only person there. I've dealt with her a couple times, very friendly and honest at least in my experience. Last time I ordered it was for some java moss, 5 dollars shipped, took a while but I got it.
