So I was at my LFS and they have a pair of hedgehogs in! They got them from a customer who couldn't care for them anymore. Its a pair, nice enclosure, wheel, and tiki hut hide for $275. I am also trading in some of my cichlids to them so I should be able to get it for $200! It was pretty funny, becasue when I went to hold them, htey came over and started licknig me. One of the owners who was there said "Wow, they have never done that before, they are normally pretty timid around new people".

I have always wanted hedgehogs so I think I am going to do it. What do you think?

heheheh looks a lot mike that puffer pic

this to me is so weird, never heard of them as pets before

my sister has a friend in... gosh I forget the country.... but she came over here a couple years ago for a week and stayed with my sister. She went nuts when she saw a squirrel, taking loads of pictures of it. She couldn't believe they run around as they were.... BUT she says that where she is from, the hedgehogs are the little scamper bugs.... I couldn't even imagine.

One or two visit our garden on a regular basis mainly in the autumn, i think to fatten up before hibernating over winter.
They are fascinating things but quite the norm in the countryside in the UK.
As for being a pet or pets??
By the way a believe they have special diets and you should not give them cows milk but they do like tinned dog food.

i am going to only feed them specialized hedgehog food, treats, water and ocassional insects (they are insectivores). I have done a lot of research and going to make sure they do very well
