help pls.

Also, the best way to plant depends on which plant your getting. Let me know what plants your thinking of buying and I will try and help you out. Like for instance, when I plant Hemianthus Callitrichoides, I take out the plant and get it out of the little basket, remove all the spongy material it comes in, and separate each and every little sprout and plant them maybe a cm apart or less, by long tweezers. Java fern, sometimes I attach to driftwood with green thread, or maybe plant with the rhizome above the substrate. I would definitely buy some long tweezers tho, I couldn't live without mine. Good tools of good quality are worth every penny. I buy mine from ADA aquariums online, but they are a bit expensive. Maybe your LFS has some good quality tools, but mine doesn't. Good luck.

Ok, I think most people probably go the bleach route, just be careful and don't use too strong a solution. If you use the one part bleach to 20 parts water, I would leave them in to soak for maybe 2 minutes and take them out. By that time, most stuff will die and/or fall off/sterilize. Also soak them really good in highly dechlorinated water for a good 10 minutes and I would even rinse them off one last time under the tap for good measure. Also, I have heard anacharis is pretty sensitive to bleach dips, so if you get this plant(I wouldn't because I think it's hideous), don't do a bleach dip lol.

About my fish with popeye I've come to end of treatment today and done 40% wc fish still no better yet so put in another dose let this go for 4 days do a water change and put carbon back in I brought a better test kit today (api master kit .) My water is as follows. Ph-7.5 nitrate-40 nitrite-0 ammonia-0.25 is this ok.

if your still getting ammonia readings, I would do another water change in 24 hours and see if the ammonia readings go to 0. Ammonia is highly toxic to fish. That way you have changed 90 percent of the water over a 48 hour period. If the water tests 0 ammonia after the 50 percent water change tomorrow, then I would start another treatment. I would also suggest testing your water right out of the tap and see if you get a reading there. What are you using for your water conditioner.....to remove chlorine and chloramines? Most of those remove ammonia, and detoxify nitrites, nitrate......I use Prime myself, it's a great water conditioner. First test your water source and see if you get detectable ammonia readings.

I'm using stress coat do u think I should change.do another water change tomorrow like u said and will test tap water to let u know mate thanks.

well, it's a water conditioner at least. I would switch to Prime......it's just better, it does more as a water conditioner. Anyway, it does treat for chlorine, chloramine, ammonia, and replaces slime coat. Prime does all that plus detoxifies nitrite and nitrates. I wouldn't ditch what you have just to switch, but next time you buy a water conditioner, I would buy Prime, maybe I am just a Prime guy? :) I think quite a few people would agree though.

Dal - how did u cycle the tank? Shouldn't be any ammonia, especially with all those water changes. If the tank was cycled it should be able to tackle any incoming ammonia from the tap in a couple of hours. One day top. Still thinking this could be an issue with cycling.

Like I said every thing was fine untill I put new filter on. put media from old filter in and was getting water tested from a crappy lfs who said it was fine and sold me fish Instead of telling me about cycle won't be going back there all I won't is a fish tank that's running fine don't want to keep putting fish at risk .like u said mate I'm going though another cycle.
