Holy Elephantnoses

Okay, now that I've read all of this, I have a question....

Jamison, why are you arguing this topic so fervently? It is just a fish, after all. The majority of the ancient religions had icons, so just about any animal you can think of was considered sacred/worshipped/sacrificed or whatever....what makes the enose so different for you? Are you this fanatical about your chosen deity? (Not a knock, because I am about mine....) It seems like you are trying to get a rise out of everyone, and at this point you are beating a dead horse, er, fish.... We get it. The enose was sacred. So were the cat and the jackal. I understand. No further argument necessary.

On a side note, how did this whole enose thing go from a scientific discussion of intelligence in fish to a religious screaming match?

Just making an observation of the silliness of this whole thing....

If you look at a map, neither Congo, Nigeria, nor Cameroon are on the Nile river.

The Nile flows into Lake Victoria and into Lake Albert.

Im not going to do the research to prove that also. I proved they are Sacred.

Slip: here is a link of scientific names and the common names of elephant noses...as you can see...there are MANY..

the reason why I am fervant about this cause is because slip and a few others doubted me...so I must stand my ground, right?

As for my religion, well..we can say that my parents hoped (and still hope) that I become more "religious"..but I am fine as I am...

I never replied in your other thread or doubted you here.

I just dont see the connection bewteen your elephant nose and the fish they thought was sacred in Egypt.

So what fish (species name)do you have Jameson? There is no proof that the fish you have is the same they thought was sacred.

Unless of course you are implying that all elephant noses are sacred.

I am not only suggesting but informing you that it would be all the elephant noses that live in the nile- the "common" one as well. As I said, I am not going to spend the time to research that as well.

i already brought up the link for you that said where the "common" elephant nose you have is from.

Turns out its not the Nile.

ANYWAY, I am going to be out for a few hours...so.....whatever you post against the idea of them being sacred will not only be responded to, but unequivically undeniable

Thats One link..I know a few that denies your link...... but I am not going to research that.

anyways, the Egyptians believed many large fish from the Nile were sacred. The common elephant nose wasent one of them.

Thank you all. Have a good night. :)
