I DONT WANT MY ZOOS!!

 just like me... I go by tv shows too :D

I used to tell time by tv shows. Now I got TIVO (recording yay!) which distorts my reality of time (I fast forward a lot xD) so I am back to the clock

I used to have the same problems with mine, they would come out and look really nice for a few weeks. Then one day i added another rock which must have had those sh1tty nudi's on. They must have spread onto the other rock of polyps i had and within a few days all closed up, saw them crawling all over them.

You know how i got rid of them, i threw the dam rock off my balcony. Didnt keep them for around 3 months, changed water loads and then bought some new ones. They have been doing well for the past few months. As soon as i buy a nice bunch i dip them and put them in the tank. Hope this helps.

For your information i got just as angry with them as you

You should just kill the nudis, stop worrying so much about 'wearing gloves' and start enjoying your tank again, ya big scary pumpkin.

but i dont want to touch them... i dont want them!! aaaahhhh :nilly:

Touching zoos isn't going to hurt you.

If they were powerful enough to hurt a person, I'd be dead a long time ago.

then how come everyone says "wear gloves when fragging" ?

SO the gig with zoos is palytoxins.

they done be bad. there is one dude on RC, who lost his dog do to a tioxin it had injested.

because during a move, in which he was removing corals from his tank (therefore "Ripping" the matt of zoos) and storing them in a rubbermaid on the floor in tank water.

his dog drank that water, injested a large amount of toxin, and passed.

at first i was way paranoid after readin all about it. so i did alil more research and found many accounts of people eating HH crabs because the crab ate their prized red zoos:barf:,squishin zoos with their fingers, scraping them withh a razor intank, bare handed, gettin shot with zoo goo in the eye etc.

and they're obviously not dead.

so theen a few months ago on RC some dude gets zoo goo in his eye, his eye swells up, he goes to the ER blah bla blah.

turns out what mussed up his eye was a corneal abrasion and a bacterial infection that was treated as such.

turns out a few doctors have fishtanks. these guys got way into how paly toxin was researched for possible medical purposes, and biological warfare.

these studies found that yea, zoo goo is darn toxic. but how much is in each type of zoo, how much gonna be transferred through skin, how many of your TUBS BLUES it takes to kill you, how to treat it etc are just unknowns.:wall:

now ive heard of reefers who refuse to keep zoos for this reason.:omg:

ive bought frags from a dude who has a very impressive set-up (no voucher for common sense) and an infinate amount of knowledge of this hobby (been at it since the 80's) who grabs a colony of zoos, scaple, and cuts what i want right there , no gloves, nothin.:eek3::jaw:

so imean what ive taken from this topic being discussed by people who know mountains more about it is this.

dont eat zooanthids. dont slice yourself open emo-status and squirt zoo goo in your open bloody flesh wounds.:jaw-dropping:

matter of fact:idea:, lets all be safe and wear gloves, because, you just never know
