Everyone is hatin' on me.
No, we are stopping the spreading of misinformation. Something that does not serve the hobby well.
Dogs and fish are two totally different things.
Why? Because dogs will whine if they are abused? Because you can cuddle them? Because they don't need their own little "world" to sustain them? Because they are so gosh-darn cute? Because there are laws to protect them?
Just what IS the difference? I'd like to hear this.
And I go to school to learn about fish and stuff. I have some idea of what I'm talking about. Okay, soo yea.
If you had an idea of what you were talking about, you would have researched rice paddies before making the statements that you did. There are enough myths in this hobby without someone who claims they "go to school to learn about fish and stuff" perpetuating them even further.
And I have heaters for my bettas anyways.
I'm just trying to stick up for people who don't have them.
You have heaters for all the "
numerous bowls with bettas in my room"? What heaters are you using for bowled bettas?
You also said they did not need filteration?
If you want to keep your bettas in bowls, that's your perogative. They're your fish. However, most of us here advocate "best conditions possible for fish" and people who post that they don't provide the best conditions -- and defend themselves for doing it -- aren't going to get an easy ride.
Many of us are here to help educate newcomers to the hobby. That means providing the best information we can about keeping fish in the best conditions possible. What people
do with that information is their business, however they can at least make an informed deciscion with good information, and not one based on myths and assumptions.
