I got this guy for free from a Meijer because he’s bloated and his head was stuck in a snail shell. He was given to me with the label “Plecostomus Medium”. I can’t tell if he’s a hybrid or what. To me he looks most like a Snowball or I guess maybe a Bristlenose but he doesn’t have -nose- bristles. It’s like he has whiskers they’re down underneath around his mouth and he has two long ones that stick out front. He also has two rows of small spikes down his tail which is kind of cool. I took him out of the tank to try to feed him some peas and get pics. The tank is a 37 tall and yes I plan on getting a 55 or larger soon, but I wanted to identify him just in case he is going to get huge. I’ll do what it takes but as I’ve never seen “medium” as a type of pleco, so I don’t believe them. He does hide against things in a way that makes me think he has a “sucker fish” type mouth but he’s never done it against the glass so I’m not sure if he does. Also some tips on how to give him veggies would be great ? the other fish eat the peas, he won’t eat when I have him in a bowl (very stressed of course), and other veggies keep floating.
