inhumane "Fishquarium" at ThinkGeek -- please help

It's always nice to see people posting on the importance of meticulous care. Just too bad that this wisdom always seems to be found in those of us who are very serious in the hobby and never in the people who just want to put a pretty fish on their desk.

Again not to compare fish and dogs or cat - but it's sad that there are no laws against the inhumane treatment of fish. For example if the local animal authorities found out you were keeping your dogs in a freezing pen filled with their own feces and urine and feeding them only once a week, they'd take them away and fine you. Do it to a fish and no one cares in the least.

Yeah, unfortunately dogs and cats are the only ones who get any respect in that regard. Reptiles, fish, birds, probably ferrets and any other kind of exotic pets...really nothing, although I don't know. If there were a hoarding situation with 100 neglected aquariums, I wonder if some authorities wouldn't notice!

Even dogs and cats are kept in very small kennels in clean, healthy, and content conditions, and although they would probubly seem more emancipated "to some" sleeping on satin pillows and in in their own country resort with 500 acres to roam, in their kennels they can be just as content.

Don't worry there are allot of folks in power right now working on the perceived problem of animal equal rights with humans, slowly but surly hunting, fishing, even hiking are slowly being taken away, not withstanding the current condition of our country.

Point made & enough said....

I don't get the big deal about the item when we have persons right here as members that do no better and knowing they do doesn't stop them either.

People in glass houses and all that jazz. . . . . .

I would have never even heard of this "ThinkGeek" site if the op hadn't started all this. There's a couple of really cool things that I just ordered. Thanks Megan!
