"where I can get a fish like the one in your avatar"

I pulled my old Pl*co pic into PhotoShop and tried out the Pattern Stamp tool. Kinda 60's-ish doncha think? :)

If all goes well with this whole research thing, shall i post it on here? I have to make sure this whole thing fits in with ym school schedule
Absolutely!

Pl*co, I thought it was the 'Adobe variety' (loricariidae adobus I believe). Yes, very groovy baby, very groovy.

Excellent Matak. I never was very good with the scientific names. That baby is full grown by the way. Obviously cross-breeding paid off! ;)

so I tried taking a cube in my hand and feeding the BGK, and he was totally interested and he smelled it, and came around the log, and saw my hand was there, and flew back underneath and didnt come out, ha, it was funny, the green severum and moonlight gouramis don't care, they start hammering on the bloodworms, but the silver dollars are way to skeptical yet!

ok, now I am going through a lot of bloodworms, I am feeding 2 cubes of bloodworms and a little flake food during the morning and at night, and flake food during the lunch hour, is this a good thing, shall I change it up a bit? What do you do?

It sounds like you could be overfeeding. I feed about an ounce of bloodworm per day, at night, and that's for everyone in the tank, not just him. First come first serve. I also throw in one shrimp in bits for him and my pictus cat to share. I feed flakes and tabs in the morning for the mid dwellers and bottom feeders that are active at that time of day.

well I don't know, my two gouramis are both 4-5 inches, my green severum is about 4 inches, two danios 2 inches, clown loaches are at least 4 inches and the 2 silver dollars are 3-4 inches, and the bgk around 4, and they all come out and the food is all gone witin a min, I thought I was underfeeding. everytime I walkt o the tank they are all goingt o the top! But figured thats normal for a brainstemed animal! I was going to get shrimp for the BGK since he seemed to go after those floating in front of him instead of the bloodworms!

I like shrimp as a 'filler' food. It saves on the cost of bloodworms and he thinks he's getting a 'live' meal because he gets to play with it before he eats it. Did you know that in the wild BKG only live on daphnia and copepods? Fish are not a regular staple of their diet. Now, my pictus cat is the aggressive hunter in my tank, its why I feed shrimp bits as they think its like catching small prey. Then they are more inclined to leave the rest alone. Works for me.

Just remember, a fish may have a huge body, but they have small stomachs, and are bored in the tank, so what else to do? Eat. Do not reward begging with food. It only makes the habit worse. (Believe me I know!, my platy's did that game to me) Feed at regular times. They'll learn.
