HAHA you know its bad if you put the wine bottle in there and then next day you find it outside the tank, then you wonder what kinda party they are throwing!

LOL, I think they might even be smoking the hygrophylia diformis lol :)

I had mixed feelings about a planted tank with these guys, but it just means I have to replant a few in the morning but i stuck with hardy plants (lucky) so I think it will be ok.

Very nice pic of the brown knife Nuriel. Keep the b/f away from the tank or try drying out some hygro and rolling for him lol. I'm sure the fish will be watching with an evil grin lol :)

HAHA very nice, I had a friend in highschool that sold oregeno to a kid, and the kid came back the next day saying he was so stoned, and we all knew about it, I think spicing up his life is the way to go!

WHOO HOO I fed my BGK from the hand today!!!! Well not feed feed, but he took a worm!!!! I felt like a kid again!!! it was really awesome, to have him do that!!very very exciting moment! Patience, thats all I got to say!

wouldn't see why not, I guess depends on how big the shrimp is and how big you BGK is, wait to see what others say, I personally would, I have heard a varied diet is good, but don't until someone is more experienced answers!

It took a while before mine would eat raw shrimp. I had to ween him off bloodworms which he only knew as food at the time. It took several feedings of shrimp before he got the taste for it. My pictus cat would eat it first. Then I tried stinky brine shrimp which was an immediate hit. Mine bkg still hasn't caught onto flaked food. Although, some people say you can teach them to eat flakes. I'm going to try dried krill and maybe some shrimp pellets next.

Cool Ryknier, I haven't had the chance to get Spook back to where I was hand feeding him so, he's lost the habit. And with this deeper tank, its not as easy to do. Maybe after he grows a bit bigger...... He's at 6 inches now and I figure he's about 9 months old. I've had him 5 months and they say they start to sell them at about 4 months old. I figure he'll get to 12 inches long or so in captivity. Unless they're in huge tanks with more of their own kind, they usually do not attain full size. Or so I've been told by other owners.

I have also been noticing my BGK to be coming out quite a bit during the "day" time hours, and then of course when the lights are out and the moons are on, he OWNS the tank, he is everywhere! I don't know if it is from me walking by thinking its feeding time or what, trying to out my finger on it!!

can he sense me standing outside the tank

I don't know. I usually find mine sleeping upside the filter intake in the morning. I turn on the 40 wattstrip and he stays there. The pc compacts are on a timer for 10 45 am. When those come on he will duck down into the rock cave for the day. If its a dull morning like today he'll hang out longer, but if there's morning sun on the tank, he'll go to the cave earlier. If I fiddle inside it he'll be gone for sure. Right now I can see him hanging beside the filter intake just under the waterline, fin waving, dozing upright beside a plant.
My clown pleco must have missed his buddy for awhile when the were in different tanks, now the pleco hangs out just outside the cave.
