Since I personally work there, I can tell you that the selection is pretty nice. It's mostly a saltwater store, but they cater to freshwater buyers and have a full wall of freshwater tanks. Most employees know their stuff (I'm pretty good with freshwater things) and the tanks are kept quite clean.
There's also a Tat in Ventura.

Corbin's Exotic Pets

Marengo, IL

This place is just plain cool. So so cool.
It is kinda hard to find but once you enter it was well worth the struggle.

To be honest I don't think I would have ever found it or even known of it, but my husband installed some the glass when it was being built a couple of years ago.

So cool

The tanks are all clean and the fish are healthy. Much better than any chain store. This store is their lively hood. So they know what they are doing. The 1st Saturday of the month buy 1 and get 1 free, so the prices are better than discount chains.
I love this store, and go in every chance I get, and always come home with what I wanted.

For anyone who lives in the metro ATL area on the southside and doesn't want to waste the gas driving into Atlanta:

Pet's World
6608 GA Hwy. 85
Riverdale, GA
(770) 994-7216
Joe Hoggard, Owner

Joe can order almost any FW fish that one desires, and sells his fish at great prices! His cardinal tetras are priced a little over $2 each when my local Petsmart charges $4.30 for each cardinal! His fish are normally in great shape as well. He also will accept and pay for local breeders' juvenile fish, but I think he'll be more willing to if you scratch his back by buying his fish first ;).

Hours:

Monday-Saturday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM
Closed Sundays
