My favourite LFS is Pet Parade, a little locally-owned buisness that actually treats their bettas right. Sure, they're in small, maybe half gallon bowls, but the water is crystal clear, they all flare and have beautiful colors, and the staff actually ask you if you've treated your water and whether your tank is big enough for whatever fish you're getting.

It's way better then my local Petcetera (bettas in tiny little litre tanks!) or PetLand (*shudders* bettas in dixie cups).

Not quite sure on the numbers or hours, and unless you live up here in Lethbridge (or maybe Calgary or even Edmonton if you want to drive 5 hours for a fish lol).

Cuttingedgeaquatics in Tallahassee Florida. They take trade-ins and have the best cichlid selection in tallahassee. They also have staff that know their stuff and keeps their tanks nice and healthy. Oh and they have a 10% coupon on their site.

This is the best freshwater fish store in arizona if you are looking for nonpetsmart or petco fish. A really great selection and the emloyees know about every fish they sell. Another plus, they will buy back fsh that get too big or if you cant take care of them anymore, There is no size limit. I saw a guy sell them an 8ft long catfish.
