LFS in your area

Boulder, CO...

Aqua Imports
28th st. and bluff

Awesome store. Huge amount of healthy, well taken care of stock. Knowledgeable employees who will actually say "I don't know, let's go ask soandso" if they don't know. Biggest problem is it's such a good store, they're pretty busy a good deal of the time!

This store just opened up and it is massive, biggest LFS I've seen yet. It's mostly a saltwater store but it will have some freshwater stock eventually.

Not too bad of a store. Service is OK. Tanks are clean. Owners/workers were friendly. Has both fresh and salt. Prices were good as well. Haven't purchased equipment or equipment related items yet but I'll see tomorrow.

One of my favorite stores in New Hampshire is the Fish Bowl in Milford. I have never had bad luck with them. The employees are very knowledgable and actually ask questions about your setup before selling you fish. They are located on the Milford traffic circle and the phone # is 603-673-6894.

By far the nicest, friendliest, most knowledgeable and diverse fish-only store I have found. They have a huge selection of fish from feeders to discus and have a great selection of saltwater fish and corals. They even have a very large shark tank! They also have a great selection of plants and aqua scape decorations. They cary drift wood and all sorts of rock.

This store is basically in my backyard. No livestock but great deals on dry good-but it is limited in what they carry and stock varies day to day. It is worth the stop if you find yourself traveling on I-81 in northeastern PA. I got a new in box Magnum 350 canister filter for $40 on clearance at this place. Not a thing wrong with the filter. Their price on Penguins (which they carry most of the time) is great too. Also they always have the 160g Instant Ocean for $35 -not bad.

Tropics

There are two LFS in San Luis Obispo, CA, and Tropics is the only one I've visited.

The staff are all hobbyists with intimate knowledge of the art of fish keeping. They do free water testing and offer great advice for free. They have an excellent selection of freshwater and saltwater stock. Just picked up a nice batch of neon tetras and one fantastic bushynose pleco!

If you're ever in town, just stop by and talk fish with them, you'll be greeted warmly.
