A fantastic overall pet store. Very good service, very good stock. Their people are informed and exceptionally helpful.

Review: This is THE fish shop to go to if you are in the Washington DC Metro area. Clean; excellent, healthy stock (both Fresh and Saltwater); friendly, non-pushy staff. There is not really much more to say. The DC/Metro area is infamous for sub-par aquarium supply stores. This one is a diamond in the rough.

good stock, sometimes you can find out of the ordinary fish, but you have to watch some of the guys they are not good about letting you know adult sizes the tanks are clean and well kept the outside koi ponds are amazing. They will order fish for you.

they carry both fresh and saltwater fish. they also carry small animals and birds The only thing I really dont like is the fact they sell puppies and kittens but, sadly they are pretty much the only game in town for decent fish

STRONGLY second this:
was there this afternoon. Healthy stock, friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's worth the drive.

Also, Go Skins!

Aquarium Concepts
Dublin, CA

I went to Aquarium Concepts in Dublin CA today based on a review that I read on this thread.... Freshwater selection is pretty weak, some prices really good, some kinda expensive. I would say that 30% of the tanks were infested with ich....also the store is really junky looking. Its huge, but most of it is messy and disorganized. If I had salt water fish this would be a place to consider though....nice looking stuff. Overall a pretty poorly managed place that has potential.

Washington State

None for WA yet so here they are...

All listed are good. The first two are my top two- the rest in no particular order.

Midway Tropical Fish & Pets

This is my go-to place. I stop here first and then move on if not satisfied. Store is dingy but the staff is REALLY knowledgable! Large Cichlid selection and they've always been good to me. I haven't ever had an issue with their fish but they are underfed- expect them to double in size within a week after purchase. Also have plants and saltwater... bought one of my kittens from here.

Great selection of Cichlids and equipment. Tons of tanks for sale. Friendly, knowledgable people.

I went there to get my hedgehog. They have lots of birds and exotic type fish. Also this amazing tortoise :) They do all SW and have tons of anemone type things (sorry I do FW!)

Not enough people from Texas representing :)

I got a couple:

The Fish Place
6960 Green Oaks Rd
Fort Worth, TX 76116
(817) 737-8265

Review: Picked up a BN pleco and 6 silvertip tetra from them. Prices are reasonable, maybe a bit on the high side, but they have a TON of various species of fish. Probably one of the places with better selections I've seen. Plus they quarantine their fish for two weeks before they sell them. I know this because I wanted a couple angels out of a tank, and the owner said they weren't for sale yet as they were being quarantined. That made me feel good.

Aquatic Wonderland
3305 W Division St
Arlington, TX 76012
(817) 860-3474

Review: Small little place, very hard to find. You'll miss it easy the first time you go there. Decent selection of fish. Has a ton of angels, discus, and specializes in flowerhorns. Lots of cichlids as well. Haven't bought fish from them, but I'm told my locals that they're good.
