Longest thread in AC

lol, cheer up folks, I was just bumping this thread up 'cause it seems to have gone dead. guess nobody wants to talk about window imps or potc or even about smellin toilet seats anymore. hope kuhli is just enjoying his long holiday weekend as he's usually posting stuff on this thread, too.

speaking of potc, i saw my cousin (who worships o.bloom) on t-day. she still likes the potc movies better than the lotr ones. i'm partial to tolkien, stuff, though the movies aren't quite as good as the books. i'm re-reading fotr again. and i hear they're (including peter jackson) gonna be working on the hobbit soon, if not already. yipeeee! i hope he's more true to the book than he was w/lotr. o'right those are my thoughts for now.

On that note, have you read the Silmarillion plant? I tried... just to give myself some background to the books but I found it way too difficult, it spends about three pages introducing a character, only to never mention them again for the rest of the entire book/novel/collection/whatever it is.

y'all need to read a good Louis L'amour book. I recommend Last of the Breed. Very well done. Or Haunted Mesa. Another excellent novel.

If you like drawn-out misery and suffering, try Larry McMurtry's Dead Man's Walk. Much better is his story Lonesome Dove, which made an excellent movie, very well done, but it can be very depressing cause people keep dying. Augustus McCray was my FAVORITE character, then Woodrow Call. But is there ANY role that Robert Duvall isn't good in?? Or Tommy Lee Jones??? Wow, they sure make great cowboys. And it made Tommy Lee Jones look oh-so-good.
