Mafia 58-

Great! I'm actually looking forward to sitting out and modding one again.

Well Noods here's our PM's for the first hit on night 2...

1st PM:
Hit

We will hit Noods.

This may change if I hear some input from others.

2nd PM:
Hit switch!

We want to hit JB (not Noods)

We were 50/50 on you and JB and went the wrong way :duh:

:silly: Gah!! I rarely live past the second nightfall so this game was treat for me...(I tend to have a big mouth.) Must be the Jersey girl in me! :p:

Great game girls!

That was a tough one. The newspaper headlines seem to help the games be very lopsided IMO. I think Rich & MC would have been around much longer if the headlines didn't point directly at him. There's no excuses though we didn't play a great game.

I'll be coming up with something soon for the next round of mafia but I figure I'll wait until after the holiday next week to start it. I'll get a sign up started sometime this week though.

Well, both sides had the chance for the headlines to work for them. We were just fortunate that ours worked out as well as they did. It could have worked as well for both sides so I dont think it was lopsided at all.

Not really. The mafia headlines will only work for 1 night and then you pretty much know who was lying and who dies next. I'm not trying to take anything away from your win though. You girls had a good game  and we were grasping at straws :1zhelp:

No.. that's not true. All the mafia reporter had to do the following day was submit a sporty sounding headling talking about bribery or referees or something else related to the same theme. Then we would've had TWO headlines that both sound like the townie journlist wrote both of them. There'd be no way to tell which was which.

yea, what she said.....Both teams were able to submit a headline each nightfall......

The other thing I forgot to mention is that your investigator definitely investigated the right person the first night.

well that is not "unfair" , just skill and maybe luck.

I'm not saying it was unfair...I'm saying Zaffy did a great job on the invest.

As far as the headlines go...we could debate forever and not get anywhere. My personal opinion is that the mafia gets hosed with the headlines. You all are all entitled to your own opinions. I've been on the wrong end of the headlines in the last few games so you know where I'm coming from. My opinion is that once the whole town knows who was investigated and what the outcome was there is no way for the mafia to hide. It is much easier to tell the truth and not get caught than to lie and not get caught ;)

I haven't played here for the past few months, but I have been browsing the games, and I hate the journalist role. To have someone be able to investigate AND then openly report the investigation results without fear of mafia retribution leaves the game unbalanced...even if the mafia gets to put out their own headlines.

With an investigative role like cop, part of the game strategy is to decide when (and if) to role-claim and announce investigation results. Hiding behind a newspaper headline removes that element from the game, and definitely stacks the balance in the town's favor.
