Mafia 61: The Gunslinger - Game Thread

Interesting read today.

I have problems with some of the stratagies but I'm going to save my comment.

I'm going to ask another question instead.

If you had to name 4 mafia players right now who would they be?

I'm looking right now at:

Lab_Rat: Mafia last game (might have picked Ice) and good at flying under the radar.
Zaffy: Same reasons as Lab.
Zsand: He's a high poster, and I agree with the theory that there must be mafia hiding in the high posters. Might be a little omgusy here, but his posts seem to be pretty generic from what I can remember.
Jpap: I'm also caught a little off guard that he and I seem to be "on the same page" quite a bit. I also know that I can never get a good read on him, so whenever there's a question he always makes my list.

I realize that most of this is hunch and gut feelings. But this early on, what else is there. Lab or Zaffy would be my first choice, as I know my role and I'm still going (partly) off the suspicion of at least one of last game's mafia team.

My list would be:

Annie- not sure if mafia, but has me concerned. I think he's a great hit choice, personally.
Lab- that post about wanting to be gunslinger was off. Could be one to choose Ice.
Razz- a no show so far but is viewing
Zaffy/JB- either one fits the mold I laid out of who may have chosen Ice. Neither has done anything notoriously scummy but it strikes me odd that JB and I have been on the same page for the most part. I might just be paranoid but I'm interested in what he has to say next after posting "more later."

You are being a little paranoid Jpap. The more later was a reference to the fact that I wouldn't be able to get on the computer for much of the day. I guess I was accenting the "later" part as opposed to the "more" part. At this point I've got nothing more than suspicions.

Sorry, I actually forgot the game started today and I was reading. Honastly, I have no idea who should be picked. I haven't found anyone that sticks out yet. All I can say for sure, is a shot to me would eliminate Ice and then handing off the gun to me and like I said, I have no clue who to even point the gun twards, let alone shoot.

You've been viewing the thread for quite some time and yet you say you forgot the game started. Seems to me that you are a mafia member that was trying to hide by not posting. And once you noticed that people were considering you as a mafia suspect, you decided to start posting before too many people became suspicious.

Unsure on all four of these, but here is my current list:

Razz
Annie
Lab
Z

I did not place them in any specific order. Razz is at the top of my list for being mafia though.

How do you figure I was watching the thread? I just looked at my profile thing in the upper left of my screen and it says that my last visit was yesterday at 4:08 PM but the rules were not posted until 8:02PM and "Game On" was not posted until 8:05 PM. I already told you I was reading so that I wouldn't be so behind in the game.

Welcome to the game Razz, I was pretty sure Mad made it know when we'd start, but you are here now so reread and give Ice some names, its the only chance the Town has this game. Everyone needs to be active and contribute.

What Agass meant was it showed at the bottom of the thread here that you were viewing the thread for a long while before you finally posted.

Ok, I'll bite...why?

Basically for the same reason as you think I make a good choice. If your evil, thats great, your very sneaky when you are, if not, at least the town could trust you to kick in some doors.

Annie...I'm very curious as to why you see me and Kash are better choices than Ice. As of now I see Ice as a wash, a dangerous player but has a reputation of being bad when good. So I wouldn't choose him first, but not scratch him off the list entirely. Since choosing the gunslinger is basically the equivalent of hitting someone just w/o it being 100%, I would likely choose a middle of the road player just for the sake of it. Theres a chance they will die and for the most part it could be considered random since its not a high profile player. My first choices would be along the lines of Zaffy or Dawg or Rich. All are skilled players but arent overly talkative. Keeping Ice or Kashta around would help me personally fit in more since they usually post more like I tend to do. Getting rid of low posters is sort of unproductive seeing as they are not a threat. I dont think picking Ice was the smartest idea, so maybe picking me or Kashta would be considered better (not the best though), but why do you think that?

You and Kash are better choices because you're both very logical, and analytical. Best to make you chose while there is as little data for you to chose.

Annie, you say that Kash and I are better choices. Are you then saying that because Ice was chosen, and we werent, that we were the mafia who chose Ice? Is that why you would shoot us next?

It makes me wonder if you werent chosen over Ice because you were the one choosing. Hmmmmmmmmm.....

Ice, I don't have 4 suspects yet. If I had to pick out 4 names right now, I'd have to start flipping some coins to do that.

The best lead I see so far is Annie... but I'm leaning him more likely mafia than neutral -- which isn't strong enough yet to direct a shot at him.

Of the more active posters, there seems to be split emerging with Jbradt/Dawg on one side and Jpappy/Zsand on the other. Of those choices, I'd probably lean with Jpappy and Zsand myself.. I'm finding their posts to be well considered and helpful. This is pretty weak, though, and from all 4 of those players, I would expect some of it may be contrived... as in distancing. Bears watching is all I can say for now.

Agass has been posting some good points, I feel. The suspicions on Lab-Rat seem overstated from the posts LR has made. I attributed her post saying it'd be fun to be gunslinger more a case of enthusiasm over caution.. I don't know the player well enough to tell if this is a good scum-tell or not. This seems to be what got Jbradt to post LR as a leading suspect, along with Jpappy. I wasn't watching the thread whenever Razzle was viewing it... so I don't have first-hand info to decide whether that's an issue or not.

I'll keep working at this and I need to pull a few posts... one where I misread something and another that makes me curious.
