Sorry, missed a vote on JL, its now fixed

With all of the possibilities, this whole cop claim/counter-claim has turned into a big steaming pile of WIFOM. Not sure at this point where my vote will end up tomorrow.

I'm concerned about the lack of conversation, it's like bizzaro world here. Not that I really have much to add myself. :(

It's been a long day. I was expecting to see pages and pages of posting and debate. Instead I find a whole lotta peeps who seem to be afraid to say anything. Wow. I pulled what stuck out to me. Turns out it was Kash. No shock since JL is a huge suspect of mine and she seems to be riding on his coattails.

That vote tally is a huge red flag for me.

I've been back and forth on this myself ever since Annie counter-claimed the role. No matter which one we think is telling the truth or lying, one fact remains:

7 out of 14 players in this game are on the mafia side. And all 7 of those people wants us to kill the policeman tonight by lynching him (Annie or John) before the mayor can investigate either claim.

The scum side can't talk to each other as a team. They can't coordinate anything they do behind the scenes. The Don can't even kill any of us without the hitman. But each one of them can still dig up one excuse after another or yammer on and on about having this "hunch" about someone or how that person's argument "feels" wrong to them. Then they'll use whatever they can come up with to justify voting for one or the other person claiming to be the policeman.

I don't believe anyone who is innocent will vote to lynch either Annie or John for the Day 2 lynch.
There are a couple red flags for me here too, Kash. As I've said before... I can understand your reasoning. What I don't like at all is your method. Why come out and jump on a newb? Just 'cause he annoyed you? Looking at your posts I'd have to say yes. Then you go so far as to bash those who are looking for scum. To vote for someone you have no reason on (other than the PITA factor, which is admittedly high in this case), then bash those who are still looking for scum is indeed scummy to me.

You say that you can't see an innocent voting for JL or Annie... I can't see an innocent voting for someone with no reason (aka FF). I'm pretty sure he's annoyed you, but enough that you want to lynch him when (as you pointed out), there's still 7 scum afoot?

I'm still thinking about the theory Labby posted too. It seems to hold water, and I can't punch holes in it. Granted, I'm not ready to switch my vote or anything, but it seems odd that given even the outside chance that she's right and Annie is the don, why would mafia place a vote there? They wouldn't risk it.

Then there's this...

Fishfriend.. do not EDIT someone's quoted text by adding your stupid smileys or anything else when you quote someone. That's just wrong.
Kash, you seem to be so level headed most of the time in these games. But the way I read this is with some feeling. Why is it that FF is getting to you so badly? Why are you so jumpy?

Most importantly, why are you not looking for scum?

JB, if I was mafia in this game I'd be doing the same crap I see the others posting in this thread. Think of plausible reasons to lynch the first guy who role claimed... think of plausible reasons to lynch the guy who counter-claimed after that. Heck... just for some fun and to add even more confusion for the town, I might even switch it around at some point from John to Annie or from Annie to John... if I could think of a good enough excuse to justify it without getting myself into trouble. That's classic mafia strategy and game play. And... that's exactly what I've seein going on this thread the whole day.

In my opinion, that's the prime goal right now common between all mafia players - whether they can communicate or not. Do or say anything you can to prevent the real cop from connecting with the mayor tonight when Ice gets that investigation.

If the scum side can eliminate our cop with tonight's lynch, that makes up for them losing their hitman on Night 1 and it keeps this game at a stalemate. The best advantage the town gets is when the mayor gets hold of those 2 kills the cop is holding for us.

Going through the thread only reinforces this impression for me. The town doesn't need to look or dig or speculate about who is scum anymore. With two possible lynch victims on the board to take out the cop (Annie or John) before they connect with the mayor... the scum will show themselves to the rest of us by how they vote.

You want my suspect list as it stands? Look at the vote tally Ice posted. Two of them are voting John, two of them are voting Annie, and the rest of the mafia team is still hiding among the "not yet voted" list.

Here's Ice's vote tally with the scum (my top supects) highlighted in red.

JL-2-Annie(344)JB(375)

Those 4 are my top suspects for now. The other 3 most likely mafia suspects are among those who still haven't voted yet.

JB made a good point that I haven't been pulling posts or posting much. I'll work on some of that later this evening... maybe even change my vote to Lab Rat or JB.

^^ Hmm.. weird font change there from copy/pasting Ice's vote list into my post.

Kash. I'm glad to see you're finally going to start kicking bushes. What you see as scummy behavior I see as people doing what you're about to do. Pull posts and vote for who they think is scummiest. If nothing else, I'll feel good about getting you to go that far... no matter how misguided you may be. Feel free to look through my posts. I'm doing exactly the same thing tonight as I did night 1. I found someone I think is scummy, and I jumped on. And you're right. My vote may change as votes tend to do. I've already stated that it may change, but I love that you had to spin it in a scummy light, just in case.

I'd still like to know from JL why he's so against lynching Annie when he should know Annie to be scum. He's on your shortlist too, kash... but I get your reason for not wanting to vote him. What I do think is funny about your list is that it contains the two people who have really called you out, and FF who has been annoying you and JL all game. It seems almost too obvious, but I'm not ready to put on my tinfoil hat just yet.

For now, I like my vote where it is.

I can honestly say I have no idea where my vote will land...

Lab's conspiracy is bothering me because it really banks on the fact that both JL and Annie are putting forth a coordinated plan which has to take into account the fact that 1) both are scum 2) both were investigated by the Don and 3) that the real policeman is sitting back and letting this all take place.

May I throw a counter-conspiracy? Lab is mafia and has a hunch that one of them is the actual cop so by saying that both are scum, whether they are or not, automatically places the policeman on the chopping block the next two days. One comes up scum, alright the other one must be the Don, or at the very least a mafia goon...ooops, turns out it was the policeman. It's a one for one trade but in the end it levels the playing field to some extent because now there are no more hits on either side.

I'm not saying this is necessarily true, but I'm just trying to say that I agree with Kash on some level that it's not too hard for scum to push for one of the two players who have role called. And since it seems that the majority of the town thinks one of the two is actually the cop, it just takes some luck to choose the right one to push for...

Well, since we are playing with rules from the sign up thread and this thread, things really have changed.

Theoretically, the Mayor and the Don could have been playing and in communication since the start of the game and even possibly added a second person night one. Most of the posting so far has been based on no one communicating as of yet.

To me, all posts up to Ice's statement that we have rules from another thread in play, throw most all the theories and guesses right out the window....basically worthless.

wow hard to get caught up with all the posting. If I read everything right, we have jl claiming to be the police, and annie also claiming the same role. Obviously one of them is lying. But who knows for sure which? Jl makes a good argument to not lynch either until the mayor can investigate. As has been posted before, if we lynch the wrong one, then we lose the police.

This makes a lot of sense.

At the same time I see a lot of argument to not lynch ff just because he is a newb. I have stated before to ff directly that he has posted a lot and not posted anything helpful or useful.

By his own posts he states his strategy was to spread confusion so no one would know which side he was on. Isn't that kind of scummy in itself? Isn't that like spreading confusion? Isn't that something mafia would try to do?

I vote to lynch ff
