Mafia #67 - 50/50 -- The Play

Ok Kash, here's my list:

DD- No idea

Rich- Slightly leaning scum, he got very touchy yesterday when jpap was questioning him. Not sure what that was all about as that's not necessarily a scum tell but still struck me as odd. At this point I wouldn't vote to lynch him.

Noods- Going with the flow of the town, glad to see she finally took a stand with her vote. I think she's likely scummy since she didn't produce anything until repeatedly called out to do so.

JPap- I've agreed with a lot of what he's said, so I have him leaning innocent. I've not seen anything scummy out of him, though I know others have said they have.

Ice- Not sure about Ice. Originally I had him as mafia, then I wanted to lean him innocent, now I'm back to leaning scum. So pretty much an idk.

Mad- No idea

Wiz- It makes me lol that Wiz is gunning after me like he is while at the same time he's criticizing me for doing so against FF. I am leaning him scummy, though I don't think he's communicating so NCM.

JL- I'm leaning JL innocent. His posts have seemed pro-town and he seems to be bush kicking.

JB- JB is scummy. He said it would be helpful to keep FF around even if he's mafia, wanted to use FF as pocket mafia, etc, in a format where keeping scum around has no benefit for the town. I've not seen a real attempt from him to find scum.

Kash- Can't get a good read on Kash, but I'm leaning her to the slightly scummy side. I don't trust her one bit, she may be communicating mafia with JB. I get the feeling they're in agreement with their posts.

Annie- Annie strikes me as scum, especially with the way he reacted to being called scum. Struck a nerve there Annie?

Dag- I've not noticed scummy behavior from Dag. For now, I'm leaning him innocent.

TankHobbyist- No clue. He didn't even post any sort of ideas after he told us his school schedule.

WTH? What claimed confusion? Can you please pull the posts to support this? The only confusion I stated was in regards to FF. Like no one else confused about/by him?

I have a short lunch break to pull my thoughts together......

That's exactly what I'm talking about Noods.

You claimed confusion as to not get in the middle of the FF argument but decided to vote for him...I think because you knew people didn't like the fact you weren't getting into the game. You mainly picked him because of the cat excuse and tacked on the "role claiming/investigate me issue" at the end. You made no attempt to add any discussion and now you are picking at JL for posting some original ideas that aren't just to the same old tune that you seem to be critical of.

You're playing similarly to Annie. You don't want to get into the middle of the main conversation yet you've been reluctant to share any different ideas...just skating along...

Could you at least post a list like Kash asked?

The SB in this game is a survivor/woodcutter hybrid. Any time you have a survivor role, it ain't good for the town. The survivor plays the game only to get to the end and join the winning team.

They're playing for themselves only, and will be opportunistic (or should be) to win. This makes them an unreliable ally for either side really... The fact that they also have the power to kill other players upon their death isn't a plus, either. Too upredictable, uncontrollable, and unreliable.

That said, I don't see a really safe way for either team to eliminate the SB or try to use the role to their advantage. Folks will just have to close their eyes when voting and hope for the best if they're the last couple on...

:iagree: That is also my take on the SB....not on any side but their own. the ability to randomly kill 1/2 of the players is scary...

ok my list....I see a few players that seem to be aligning themsleves but I will refrain from pointing them out and stating my opinion due to the format of this game.

DD - leaning innocent at the time (which is scary all in itself!)

Rich - not really sure however his play seems to have stepped up a notch and definately warrants watching

Noods - pure and innocent...

Jpap - on the fence about him. Seemed scummy day one with his heavy pushing (along w/ Labby) against FF, but seems to be genuinely trying to help the town at this point..

Ice - leaning innocent. Also seems ot be trying to help root out the scum

Mad - not sure - other then the banter with Ice and his 20 questions for Tank, not much to go on...

Wiz - not sure yet, but leaning innocent

Labby - leaning mafia due to day one activity but my suspicions have backed down a little; only a little!

JL - leaning mafia. his reasons for his votes two days running are pretty lame and seems to want to stay out ot the fray of things. i do not feel that his bush kicking is up to his usual standard. EPrhpas he need to stop thinking about HNK?! :lipssealedsmilie:

JB - not sure but possibly leaning mafia......need to read his recent posts again later today.......

Kash - altho it hurts me to say, leaning innocent. (sorry Kash! )

Annie - seems to be typical Annie so on the fence at the moment

Dag - not too sure yet....

TH - ?????

I only had a short lunch break (and no time at all yesterday) so without getting in trouble here at work, this is the best I can come up with rather quickly.

The only thing you've given away is that you're non-communicating and didn't think things through before posting. I don't believe you've proven yourself to be a townie at all.

Then DD replied (below). FF had already got himself into hot water with Lab Rat. FF is probably non-communicating and doesn't think before posting. That seems truthful to me based on what we know of him. FF also agreed he's not good at this when he isn't communicating. Another statement that sounds true and pretty much applies to most of us.

Here's what DD posted.

I don't believe he's given anything away actually... maybe "trying" to seem like it, but I wouldn't go as far as trusting what he's doing one way or the other.

Still at this point in time, DD agrees with LR. She doesn't think FF has revealed anything important. He might just be "trying" to do something. DD doesn't trust him though, he might be "trying" to confuse people. (Whether that's scummy or out of self protection could be interpreted different ways depending on which option you choose yourself.)

However, my interpretation of the second post DD quoted was that it was reasonable. DD interpreted that as scummy, I guess, based on her using the smiley she included.

Now that FF is in trouble with another player who questions him about his posts (this time DD). FF quoted DD's post and joked that he's digging his own grave. Trying to make light of the bad situation he's in, I suppose. I took him referring to Noodles here as him making a connection in humor with her to the last game we played.

FF didn't remember Noodles was on the player list. Posts that correction and probably feels foolish about it.

Now we get to the part in question. (This has taken a while but I wanted to be accurate about the context and point in time where all those discussions leading up to this took place.)

first things first.... why did you quote my post and then refer to Noods?

second point is, why did you say Noods is not playing... when she is?

DD posted those 2 questions to FF in reference to the above quotes.

We didn't know FF's role at the time as we do now. However, knowing now that he was NCI, I believe he felt pretty low mucking things up so badly and not being able to think of a graceful way out of this. He chalks up his error to getting confused.

This brings me to one point in the post below that I wasn't able to follow.

I'm willing to put my first vote on FF.... for 1, trying so hard to claim innocent, 2, suggesting that Noods was not in the game, when she is.... though I am sure if this was a slip up or an aversion to her being in, and finally 3, claiming confused. Yeap, I vote to lynch FF

DD, I see your rationale for suspicion or even voting FF at the time this took place. But I'm having some difficulty with the 2nd reason you posted. (Let's say FF was scum.) How would it benefit the mafia in any way for a player to suggest someone isn't playing in the game when she is? You don't seem to accept/believe the "confusion" explanation FF gave you and you cited that as your 3rd reason anyway... and you listed this point specifically as a separate reason from the 1st and 3rd ones you gave.

Dag... WTF? Read the bolded part slowly to yourself. You wrote it... remember?

The short answer is YES! If you are asking someone, who's role you don't know to investigate you, then you are essentially asking both sides to investigate you. Is that not the case? I've only been speaking english for 34ish years. And I know you guys have all done a bang up job interpreting FF's posts for what they really meant so far.

Is there a reason that any person would want to be investigated by both sides? If you get your wish you become communicating and a target for the other side who can just send in a hit on you without having to vote.
