Mafia #70: The Time Vortex

That's what I'm hoping for. If not, we should have until the nightfall after this before I get hit.

I'm also hoping for someone who's played with Charlie before to comment on his play.

I'm thinking the list can safely be reduced to Wiz, Ogre, JL. That's the best I've got for now.
When Chas first started playing Mafia, he was great at kicking in doors, and shaking the bushes. Once World of Warcraft got it's hands on him, he disappeared from ACville for a long time. Since then, he's returned a few different times, but each time, this very minimal posting has been has been his style, regardless of alignment. A time or two ago I believe that he even UDed.

Charlie's lurking is a null-tell for me. His alignment could go either way...

The gunslinger takes aim, once again, hoping to nail scum...bullseye...to think, only moments before the target learned of his teammates...

Ogre is mafia
What a difference a day makes.

Reading this closer, it suggests that Ogre may have been turned by the spell from the warlock the previous night. I bet Ogre was a townie up until then. Which raises suspicion on RB as a likely turn candidate. I think at one point, Kash came out pretty strongly that RB would be a poor choice to turn... Wiz still looks pretty bad.

So there were 3 to start, 2 after HN. 3 again after their turn. 4 after the warlock's turn. We took out Kash and Ogre. So they're back to 2 still? Did I forget something there?

I would be looking at JL, RB, Wiz.
Agree with the warlock turn. Based on what he was saying earlier then, JL and Noodles would have been townie Ogre's real top choices. Not sure how much stock we should place in it, but it might be nice to know at some point.

Idk Wiz, part of me thinks RB may have been telling the truth when he said he was scum. What do you guys think?

I think that you've done a complete 180 since last night for some reason. Care to explain?

If I need to take one for the team to prove a point, then please go ahead. (I do not want a PR to be hit in error)
It might be wise to reconsider the GS coming out before hand so we have another confirmed innocent before we head into the next day/game format.

The way I read this is that Ogre didn't know who else was on his team. It doesn't say anything about the other scum knowing or not knowing about ogre.

That tells me that Ogres posts might not be terribly useful in rooting out other scum.

If the scum team knew about Ogre though, their posts may be useful.
Kind of a weird thing to say. If you knew whose posts to look at, wouldn't you know who the scum were?

Mad, the thing that changed was jpap saying Ogre had just learned his teammates. To me that means he was the warlock turn so the day 1 turn is still scum. When I told Kash she or RB would have been my choice for turn she got pissy about it and pretty much told me I was being ridiculous. That RB was an obvious choice for them to turn so they wouldn't turn him or something to that effect. I don't have time to find it atm.

LOL I was just in the process of looking at Kashta and I had this highlighted to quote - here you go. Well, not your first post but Kash's response....(click on the arrow and it will take you to the correct page.)

Lab Rat wastes no time trying to bring down innocents again.

You realize there's a difference, don't you? Bishop was cleared by the newspaper headline which we believe came from townie investigation results. When the town considers someone as proven innocent (like a published investigation or a confirmed role claim) it's a good bet the scum will turn that person because of that perception of innocence. It's happened that way in many games. The evils turn someone the town knows (or knew) they could trust. And veteran players who've learned this become wary in games like this where innocents get turned evil.

The first time I remember this was a Vampire game I played... The very next turns the evils recruited were those who'd already been cleared.

Correct me if I'm wrong, JL... isn't that why you think we should no longer trust Rbishop?

What do you mean I'm trying to bring down innocents? I was saying who I thought scum would likely target. More likely RB than you, but from your reaction I'm wondering if I struck a nerve there...

Lab, you are not a noob at this game and aside from the games you've played already you've read others. Even after I wrote that out for you about turns, which JL already suggested by his post and Ogre thinks would be too obvious, you still act like you don't get it. Who are you trying to fool here? And in that same post you chose to link me right alongside Rbishop who's either a very likely turn or a terribly obvious one. That's not you just "thinking out loud" again or whatever else you'll hope to pass this off as.. it's a totally scummy maneuver to pull. And whether it's your tactic now for coming after me or somebody else in the game, you'd get called out for doing it.

If you've got a case on me, then post it and vote me. Trying to link me instead with someone we can no longer trust is not cool at all.

I have no case on you Kash. In fact, in my mind I think your play has been very pro-town. That is why I said I thought you would make a great turn. Why is it scummy for me to put that thought out there? Do you think we need to ignore the fact that someone who was working for the town is now scum? That in and of itself is scummy. While we shouldn't solely focus on who could have been turned we most certainly cannot ignore the fact that someone was turned. Other decent turns are those who have not brought attention to themselves or been kicked around much.

What are you talking about Ogre? FF voted to lynch Zs this past nightfall. Are you trying to re-write history?

I guess Kash would be the only one we know for sure.

^^Who may have known what Ogre was.
Right.

I don't get it. Why would it take Ogre flipping for you to change your mind? I don't recall you saying "I think that RB was scum, but is now town, thanks to the warlock." If you really thought that, I would think that you'd have mentioned it... not just called RB 'disgruntled town' or however you referred to him.

A quick thought - maybe Kashta was the first turn? she is ceratinly a good choice.
I guess it doesnt really matter. It seems we are looking for 2 more scum that most likely were not able to communicate on the first day....

Not sure about Kash being a turn. JPap told us about Ogre, so it'd be inconsistent if Kash were also a turn and JPap didn't mention it.

I'm thinking that we're looking for D1 scum and the N2 turn...
