Mafia #70: The Time Vortex

I also think it sounds like Rich is still a confirmed innocent. I'd love to hear more from Charlie, he's pretty much been non-existent this game. I know he was on HN fairly early on, but still, I'd expect more of a contribution from a townie.

Also, who do you guys think would use a hit on FF? Though I was actually starting to wonder if FF had a PR due to his drastic reduction in post count, so maybe that's not something worthwhile to consider...

It's time for change, the mafia decide...

^^ Pulled Dawg's quote there because that's where he quoted this rule from the Gunslinger game.

"The mafia select a townie to serve as the first Gunslinger."

If we have to play this one and the mafia got to pick who they gave the gun to, they might not pick someone like Ice (as happened in the last game). I just hope none of them played the game or followed it.

The least Pappy should have done pulling that format for this game would have been to give the gun randomly to one of our physicists instead. Then there'd be a better chance for the town to make an informed choice of targets (which would have been more fair). The mafia got to choose any townie they wanted. But they've had several days already to investigate townies and so on, first.

Thanks. so we just sit around like sitting ducks then?
Noods' response. She was playing confused. But right around nightfall, she was complaining about people not really playing; now this is her first response. Anything to say for this, Noods?

If you are mafia.
JL's response. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt that this was his honest sentiment given that he posted quite a bit afterward.

In that format, Ice had the gun (yes the mafia gave Ice the gun) and he killed most of them right off the bat.

I am pretty sure he came out and we discussed things.

If I am given the gun, I would like to know who the town wants shot.

I think we all listed 3 players.

Mine would be Orge, Wiz and Lab.
As I said JL, all the gunslingers after Ice went by the town's list of who's naughty and whose nice (If you'll allow me to mix my metaphors) and Labby slid by the whole game. We need to be questioning people and getting them to post.

And then we get this from Kash:

At this point, I was going to vote Ogre after seeing Zsand was one of ours. No one else wanted him dead more than him. Now, I guess, we just wait and see what happens.
Kash, I find this highly suspect as you were one of the gunslingers in the original game. You of all people should know that just waiting to see what happens is a recipe for scum victory. Anything to say to this?

To whoever has the gun: Ice did so well that game because he shot on instinct based on what he saw in individual people's posts. He did not wait and act on concensus. The rest of us did that. I can tell you that I hesitated on the instinct to shoot Labby 3 separate times. We lost the game for it.

I think the slip in Kash's post is a dead give away. She has gone through most of the game unchecked. I think this is that time. Noods isn't quite as suspect due to this response, but I'll be looking into both of these further tonight.

If they're not on the trail, they make a bad shot and we're down a physicist, how does that sound?

ps... in my first line, I was referring to the fact that Noods's post was her response to finding out it was the gunslinger game.

I just saw this:

To the bolded line: why is that Kash? 'Cause the GS would know I was right?

This is the type of slip Ice looked for and used successfully 3 times. I'll be looking into Kash before Noods.

JB, you haven't found Kash's play to be pro-town? I haven't seen anything scummy from her that I remember. I'm kinda thinking you're the one who needs more looking into. Your play this game hasn't stood out to me, which now is standing out a lot to me. Have you been sliding by? Why did you hit FF?

Yeah, JB. I had that gun for a turn too and I decided to shoot Dawg with it... which was a huge mistake. I decided then to go with my own hair-brained theory at the time. The other gunslingers who followed me DID choose targets based on the town's consensus and they were wrong too. It doesn't matter what the town consensus will be. Anyone could be pulling that trigger who isn't good at reading between the lines like Ice was.
