I know you're waiting for my reply, so here that is. As for the rest of the thread since last night, I'll expect to get back on later... a few hours, probably.
<< I broke Chill's full post into sections since it's such a multi-part thing. >>
No, Chill. My plan was trying to help Wizard find scum. He needed input, was running out of time, and half the town still weren't posting squat.
When Wizard asked us to name who we'd shoot if we absolutely had to, I didn't have a name to give him yet. My top suspect had been Ice (for reasons I'd cited).... he's the one I questioned most through the weekend but I still wasn't sure. Then, as fast as everyone jumped to say he's who they'd shoot, I grew concerned. There was good reason to believe Ice might still be innocent and just looked scummy for pushing everyone so hard. So I didn't take that easy way out to just say, okay shoot Ice.... like, I believe, others may have been doing in their replies.
To answer Wizard, I narrowed it down to a list of vet players and told him I'd have to flip a coin to choose between them. (You really can't come up with a target that sounds more lame than that... and I knew that as I typed it out.) Sunday morning, I finally had more time to review the thread to find what else looked suspicious. I started on Page 1 and looked for an ulterior motive behind each post. Yours stood out because you seemed to be really pushing hard... plus the fact that the questions you raised invariably pointed to people other than yourself. I felt there was a good chance you were trying to mislead Wizard while appearing to be helpful at the same time, so you became a real good suspect.
When I got back to the thread later, I posted the best input I had to offer several hours before Wizard's deadline. Right or wrong, Chill, you were a good choice.... as evident by the fact that it's you holding the gun now. And there was still plenty of time for further discussion about that before Wizard had to make his final decision.
I inserted nothing between your 2 questions, Chill. That was the content that appears in this thread. Go back and check if you need to.
The way you posted one thing, then came back to revise the question so fast seemed weird. I suspected you made the first post, then some discussion took place at your scumden, and you decided your ploy would probably work better if you revised it. So that's why you posted the 2nd question. Still trying to decide whether you were scum or not, I looked real close at what else appeared in the thread between them that may have changed your mind about the question you asked (if innocent with no scumden). I didn't see anything in those posts to explain why you'd make that change, so I pulled all those quotes for later and kept reading the thread from that point on.
When I did make my posts, I decided to include the stuff that occured in this thread between your 2 questions so everyone else could see they did not relate to the revision you made. Most people won't bother to click quote links to read context between posts for themselves so that's why I didn't exclude it in my posts.
Ice had just asked his questions before you did. If he was innocent, then obviously the questions you both asked were not coordinated as teammates. I was trying to figure you out both ways, Chill... as possible scum with Ice or without him. By then, I was mostly leaning Ice as a townie (who really wanted Wizard to shoot him so he'd get the gun next)... except on the chance that you and he were both scum (based on this section of the thread).
If you were scum, I figured the stuff in between took off in a direction you didn't like, so you revised your question hoping to point us the wrong way. Looking at it again to see if you and Ice were working together, it was still suspicious to me. (I didn't know you were innocent yet, Chill.)
If you and Ice were deliberately posting your questions at the same time, neither of you would have been following the other in the thread. That would have been a coordinated plan to post multiple questions around the same time, then sit back and see where they lead the town and the gunslinger.
You and the rest are just going to have to get used to that, Chill. The game I used to play and how I learned to do it as well as I could began at a point when I had a lot more time to put into this. But my work and my personal life has changed a lot. My usual approach from a long time ago was developed game by game from back when I was a noob into a very time-consuming, analytical, and systematic process that I've recently been trying to condense. I haven't been able to play like that very often and still keep current in the thread... and this isn't easy for me to adjust to. Not having time for this is also why I've had to skip so many games in a row. I'm at a point now where I'll either have to change my style of play or stop playing altogether.
