Mafia 92: Night of the living Mafia... the play

You make a good point and I see your logic but I am mostly trying to figure out how I would handle the situation if I were linched. On one hand I feel that one needs to be loyal to their current team but on the other, they should be loyal to their original team. Having never played a game like this I have found myself having trouble keeping three teams straight. I want to get rid of scum and help the town but then if linched how can I throw all that out the window? Do I?

I hope this clears things up a little bit but believe me, as confusing as it sounds, it is far worse in my head! :eek3:

What I do not understand is why you would be offering any advise for other players and then claim that the confusion over zombie loyalty is a personal matter.

*sigh* i'm not feeling very "mafia-y" this game... *sigh* i may withdraw if I can't bring myself to care... but that's just how I feel, moving on:

*note to self: lay low, it means ur a good player* lol, I don't even try to be out there, it just sort of happens...

Well then, I'm just awesome :)

This post feels like it was written by FF maybe 10 games ago...FF, I've certainly see you do better than to end up writing something so blatantly troublesome as this post.

seems odd that everyone has been ganging up on razz, or there has at least been a lot of posts aimed his way.....

Yet another question about the zombie mechanic, can lynched PR's get a zombie hit? Or is it just plain old townies?

And it seems odd that you would find it odd. Do you have anything to say regarding actual posts in the conversation?

I never said it was your first post, I said it was ONE of your first posts...

it wouldn't be the first time the mafia were clever enough to "threaten" that they might quit because of whatever reason..... it might be the first one to want to quit because they have a job though.... at any rate, it's all a baseless threat unless the PPM in to Bala is in.

I think the night was named in the sign-up thread.... ah yes, here it isw..... not sure of the time...

alright, guys... roles are all assigned. i've been working on my house all day, so i'll have to send the pm's out later tonight. only the doc, detective and mafia will get pm's. if you do not get one by tomorrow morning, you are an innocent townie. i'll be posting the game thread when i get home from work... some time around 9am tomorrow. first nightfall will be wednesday night. first 3 nights will be 48 hours, after that they will be 24 hours.
I thought I saw the day somewhere but couldn't find it in this thread. Thanks DD...a time would be nice though too.

Zombies don't win outright...they win along with the winning team, if it's their kill that makes the difference. I can't see too many innocents hunting mafia for several days only to willingly try to help the mafia win after being accidentally lynched.

IMO zombies would have the town's best interest at heart.

So, correct me if I'm wrong JB, the zombie team wins basically by stealing the win from either the town or mafia? If so then I guess my original thoughts stand seeing as the zombie would win as a separate "group" and not alongside the town or mafia.

No zombies should have their own interest at heart. Why should they care about letting the town win if they lose? If the town wins then anyone who was a zombie loses. If someone was a townie and then was changed to mafia they would be expected to go with their new team and not have a town win mindset.

Ummm, two questions...

1) The zombies' only part in the game is to use their one hit the nightfall after they are lynched and then they are done, so why should they "pay very close attention to the next days events"?

2) Why would you want to give any advice at all to the zombie team?

well they should pay attention the next days events, especially if they are unsure on whom to use the hit, because there is a 24 hr window to cast the hit.

Ah, another bright day of mafia...

IS there a reason you're so defensive about it? I noted that you we're jumping in there head first (like I normally do) and then jm1212 noted it and you got nervous and jumped on it. See, what I'm thinking now is that me thinking such a thing, meh, that's nothing, no one takes me all too seriously anyway, and it's day 1. Then Jm comes in and says the same thing. You get scared, for reasons unknown. Of course, now I think it's cause you're mafia. So, Ice, care to explain why you got so jumpy when Jm also commented on your jumping in head first?

would you prefer that he had just let the question go and ignored it?
I fail to see how answering a question is "defensive''

Thanks DD. I am glad nightfall is not tonight altho knowing the exact time would be helpful....

I took it as once they decide to use the hit as in they already sent it in. Also I'm pretty sure JB already cleared up that the zombie's have until the next nightfall which is not always 24 hrs.

actually, FF...with the series of events being posted like that, Ice's logic seems to be a bit clearer...mafia would not want the zombies to take their hit because 1. it lowers the amount of innocents they can hide behind, especially if some of the 'controversial' players are taken out in OMGUS zombie hits and such, and 2. the zombies are competition to win.

I think the mafia would want hits, The more townies killed the better it is for them. I do not follow that logic.

Well, seeing as the only way the zombies can win is by use of a hit I would think it would work in both the town and the mafia's favor for them not to use the hits at all, if you're speaking in the grand scheme of the game. Obviously an individual hit can benefit either depending on the allegiance of said hit.

That isn't what I'm saying exactly.

I'll break it down. Its really an either or situation.

Mad mafia- Posts this idea to look pro town, I mean really did it have to be posted?
Mad innocent- Posts this idea but worded it badly. Should have been more on the point of making sure you took as long as possible to make a choice. Asking someone to not take a shot is wrong IMO as its part of their game.

If Mad is innocent then its possible that Doom or Rich would think the town would agree and are latching on.

If Mad is mafia its possible that Doom or Rich are innocents that bought into the plan or one of them could be mafia trying to reinforce the idea.
