I'm kind of thinking you could find somewhere to insert NPR's name in each paragraph...

Another thing I personally see no reason for. We have never had to "babysit" the new players, it is how you learn. You jump in and do it, we didn't have hand holding, and pity parties for new players. You jumped in got your butt handed to ya a couple times, learned and kept going. Don't mean to sound bad toward others, but come on if ya wanna play ya just do it. When new players get on a foot ball team do the other players of opposing teams (or their team mates) hold their hand and take it easy on them because they are new...not really.

Hi, I used to really, really enjoy mafia, but I finally bailed for several reasons. (It seems like the thread has been a bit of a critique on why it is no longer as enjoyable. Feel free to disregard this post, if I am mistaken.)
1) Being a low-poster from the very first mafia game (I'm fairly quiet by nature, and tend to only speak up when I think that I have something new and helpful to say), I was tired of being called impolite things because of it. After several insinuations that the game was better without players like me, I left.
2) More and more of the talk was getting nasty. I hate it when people are rude to each other, especially in a forum where you can reread and edit your thoughts before sending them out.
3) It was getting very clique-y. If you sat out a few games, it was almost like you weren't welcome back when you signed up. It was no longer fun.
4) The crazy games and rules made it very hard for someone with limited time to keep track, and often limited my participation to far below what it might have been.
Good luck getting the game back to a place where it is fun for everyone again.
Cheers, Brandy

this looks like the end of mafia....

I can totally see where your coming from. I remember my first game, I (as a newb) wasn't disrespected even when I screwed up. But now, it seems that the newbs get dumped on simply for being a newb. Newbs are even dumping on newbs now, which is just sad. I vote we go back to some BTTB games for a little, and hope things get better. And thanks for the luck, we'll need it...
