His butt does seem more floaty in your latest pics. What treatment are you trying for his fins?
I tried aquarium salt for the time being for the fins, it didn't help so going for tannins instead from Indian almond leaves. Ordered them they should arrive Friday.

Top those up with water changes to keep the water super clean too.

If those don't work, I have some antibiotics on order that may arrive later this month. But, as always, I try other methods first since medications are so hard to get here (ordered the antibiotics weeks ago, shipping in from somewhere else, so we shall see lol).

For the swim bladder, soaked food in epsom salts.

Day 6. Still waiting on the Indian almond leaves, but hes in good spirits, exploring more and is starting to actually stay on the bottom instead of floating slowly back up when he goes down to the bottom. He's not sure what sand is, trying to eat it but spits it out.
Maybe he swallowed a rock and its weighing him down :p (joking)

Also, can say for sure he is a double tail betta, just not 100% sure if he's also a rosetail on top of that, but for sure a double tail.

That fuzzy tail lump makes me want to get out the scissors...not really, but...tempting...

Have your tried a speck of thawed frozen pea "guts" for the floatiness? Sometimes a bit of fiber can can help push out the air if that's the problem. Daphnia, brine shrimp or a bloodworm might work too. Does he poop well?

I'll try him some daphnia, I culture that one :D
Epsom salt soaked in the food also does the same effect. Seems to poop okay as well too.

Got him a new light for his tank. He's doing pretty good so far. He is neighbors with the cherry shrimp, can see the tiny guy in the bottom left corner of his tank. Very small

Bit sassy with his reflection, flaring at it in the back of his tank lol

And some photos

This guy scared the bajeebus out of me today, I thought he was done for.

He choked on the smallest size of bug bites betta pellets, the micro sized ones.

He ate a couple, then a lump appeared right under his gills and he started freaking out and nosedived, dropped like a rock :(

I netted him and gently rubbed the lump, got it to go down, let him rest in the net, kept a pipette pushing water over him to try to help him breathe easier.

Seemed stunned for a little bit, floating at the top a bit shell shocked, but after a bit he started swimming back around, finished off a stray pellet, and returned to normal. Within 30min was back to flaring at his reflection.

I was taking video clips for the daily video update when he started choking, but not gonna post that, was pretty distressing.
But hes fine, needed a fishy heimlich, but hes okay.

A screencap from the video though, you can see the lump

And totally fine afterwards.
