moderator abuse

Because a lot of people are not happy, and AC doesn't listen or care. People want to just come here and just be able to talk, like how normal people talk. People don't want to have to sit in front of their computers rewording their sentences all the time.

If everyone is always complaining & rarely complimenting, maybe AC should take the hint.

I hear ya dude, but you are wasting your time. They will just point out the rules and tell you that you are free to leave. They don't want to hear it & don't care anyway. :D

:chillpill:

I am not unhappy. Quite the contrary. I'm just interpreting this thread as I see it.

Yes, of course you're not unhappy. Your two other posts are just brimming with glee :headshake2:

Does one have to make an appointment to abuse a moderator, or can it be a spur-of-the-moment thing? :)

My feeling is this, the administrator AND owner of this site Neoprodigy, neo or Li whatever you refer to him as is footing the bill for the site to stay up and running. If he feels confident in the job that the mods are doing then who is anyone else to say they are not, unless of course someone wants to kick in to pay the server fees:)

Jalo I have to disagree with you. I have had god knows how many posts edited or deleted. And, (hard to believe) I've been reported a few times. Did you contact the mod and find out why it was edited? Did you complain to a global mod or the site owner before posting this thread? Just learn from the experience and move on. Mods don't just edit a post or thread because they are trying to be a big man (or woman).

Its ethical because you agreed to the ToS. if you didn't read the ToS, or agree to them but wanted to join the site, then that's your problem not the site.

I've never been a mod or tried to be one. However, I do know that they have a rough job. Look at how many posts are on this thread, and how few of them need to be edited. I have had my fair share of issues with mods. but out of respect for their position and for them I try to talk to them or a higher mod and resolve an issue with the forum in a respectful way.

I would like to address people claiming that mods abuse their power in chat. I have never whitnessed a mod abusing power in chat. I have been booted from chat and I have been gagged in chat. Most times were just in fun, and one or two time I deserved it.

Over all, i suggest people give mods a break. From time to time they will make mistakes (they are human, I think ;) )m just talk to them about it like an adult and work it out.

Well it depends. We sometimes have preplanned routines where the entrant gets scored for both artistic interpretation and technical merit. Then more recently a lotta the kids are into freestyle mod abuse - think its gunna be in the next x-games.

Then you got synchronised mod abuse - basically there's a space for everybody in the sport.

I am pretty sure Rbishop is an alien!

you know, there is a PERFECTLY reasonable solution to both the ethical concern I have and the rules... when editing a post there should be a note attached that says:

This post has been edited by moderator -- insert name here --

but I doubt they're willing to do that either (not even saying they should have to say why, just acknowledge they've left their footprint on the post) I saw you mentioned this is done sometimes, I've never seen it, and I had a whole lot of context cut out of one of my posts. If that tag was required I'd be happy to shut up. Heck, you could even take the part out about saying which mod edited it, just some kind of bold disclaimer saying "hey, we changed this"

I didn't mean to start a riot, I'm pretty new here, and I know I'm putting my head in the lions mouth... but I still haven't heard anything that changes my mind on the issue.

caveman - again - just because its a rule doesn't mean its ethical. Me agreeing to it doesn't make it ethical either, just means "too bad for me" if the mods want to blow me off for raising the issue.
