Geez, can't anyone have an opinion around here?

Ok, allow me to explain: I felt he was wasting his time confronting anyone on this subject because for the most part people would either a) disagree with him or b) tell him those are the rules and he can just leave the site.--> Not that there's ANYTHING wrong with that, because rules are rules. But that's just the way it is generally. That is what lead me to believe that people just don't care, otherwise I believe the thread would have gone in a completely different direction.

The only person who I saw actually caring was you Cheech, because you were the only one who appeared to give a logical answer. Please note that at the time I wrote that post I hadn't seen yours (we were probably posting at the same time).

So anyway, I'm indifferent because in the big picture it doesn't matter. It's not my website, I have no say, the rules are the rules and that's just the way it's going to be. I can accept that and so I am indifferent.

Now before people go jumping down my throat saying "BUT KJ, you're wrong!!! I care!!!", let it be known that I have not read every single post in this thread, and if I missed yours, I'm SORRY. And if I offended anyone with my horrible attitude and opinions, I'm sorry for that too.

OK ... so basically what you're saying is that in the following comment :

'I hear ya dude, but you are wasting your time. They will just point out the rules and tell you that you are free to leave. They don't want to hear it & don't care anyway.'

the tone at which it was written should be taken as an indifferent "matter of fact" tone, but the post should be taken as what? As your opinion? . .

Point taken.

kjr,

the only way things get accomplished on this site (or any other) is because everyone is entitled to have an opinion... That's why we have an AC discussion area on the site. All mods are constantly working on how we can make the place run easier for all...

Making everyone happy is impossible, so we try our best to get as close to the majority as possible.

I don't agree with you in this:

cause it's not true. In the big picture, it does matter. you do have a say, as does everyone else. Rules are constantly being looked into, sometimes modified... Each request (if reasonable) is discussed by all mods...

Thanks for understanding.

you know, there is a PERFECTLY reasonable solution to both the ethical concern I have and the rules... when editing a post there should be a note attached that says:

This post has been edited by moderator -- insert name here --

but I doubt they're willing to do that either (not even saying they should have to say why, just acknowledge they've left their footprint on the post) I saw you mentioned this is done sometimes, I've never seen it, and I had a whole lot of context cut out of one of my posts. If that tag was required I'd be happy to shut up. Heck, you could even take the part out about saying which mod edited it, just some kind of bold disclaimer saying "hey, we changed this"

I didn't mean to start a riot, I'm pretty new here, and I know I'm putting my head in the lions mouth... but I still haven't heard anything that changes my mind on the issue.

caveman - again - just because its a rule doesn't mean its ethical. Me agreeing to it doesn't make it ethical either, just means "too bad for me" if the mods want to blow me off for raising the issue.

EDIT: Guess I didn't see page 20 and 21. Lol.

God I love this site. ;)
I hereby dub thee my new BFF.

Sure, if you aren't offending other members. You're one to say I'M making THIS personal by telling you your emotions. You called every moderator and above on this site uncaring of the members of AC.

can I be the banana??? :D

Well...now that we've established that the acceptable manner in which posts are edited by staff eh already exists...I'm back to the fun stuff. You know...the talking fish bit. Sheesh.

Also I might add that if you feel that your post was edited unfairly you can always calmly PM a mod to ask about it, or give an explanation your point of view. They are reasonable people guys, try talking it out with them you might be surprised.

In my experiences.. and oh so many i have had.. sending a pm doesnt change anything, but you'll get a nice explanation justifying why the action was taken, and that's the way it's gonna be. (period.)

I have said this times before, we do not hold people to randsom to stay at AC....If you want to find a forum which does not moderate the language posted, or allows people to flame others, then, were not stopping you from finding another forum.

And as much as i love my people here, WOW did it feel good to actually exercise that right! I recommend everyone try it at one time or another. it was very refreshing.
