I wake up yesterday and my Bosami rainbow is not to be found. This was strange as he is the most active in the tank. Then i look
around the side of the tank and he's DEAD!

I pull him out and he is all eaten up, so i took him to the toilet bowl god and away he went.

Now today I wake up and I find one of my Congo Tetra's in the same spot I found the rainbow. This time he is almost eaten up, he had no eyeballs, no tail, it was almost all eaten up.

Which fish could be the Killer? Both of these fish were not floating, they were pulled down into the plants and eaten up.

I had the water tested and it is fine.

Wonder who's next? It's like my own little thriller movie.

Wow, same spot! Change the decor around, maybe that will confuse the killer. Who are the "usual suspects"?

Just a question, are you also a member on the Autopia car community board? Your handle sounds very familiar.

Yes, it's me.:D

Hi,
Maybe its a territory battle. I know gourami's can get nasty and territorial. Watch your tank with a flashlight after you turn the lights out. I have heard that most fish nastiness takes place in the dark. One of my LFS guys gave me this advise when I bought a fish that he thought my not get along with the others. He advised me to do this for a few weeks to make sure it wasn't going to pick on others. If you catch the little bugger maybe you can sell it back to your LFS. HTH. Letty:)

More than likely it wasn't murdered. It probably died and was eaten after the fact.

If there was a murder here I would strongly suspect the larger Gourami's. Mean fish there.

I won't keep them in anything but a species only tank or with tankmates that I am very assured they will not really notice.

Sorry about the Boesami. If mine died I'd be very upset. At least you have more than one.

The Guarimis are one of the largest in the tank. But they dont seem to bother any fish. They all seem to swim around with each other in a school.

The rainbows and silver dollars do not take their crap and give it right back to them.

I guess i will check out the tank tomorrow morning to see if there was any more murders.

ooooooooooooor it probably wasn't a murder, but a death and the fish was eaten afterwards.

thats usually the case.

2 fish in 2 days, in the same spot. strange dont you think.
and now i am looking at the tank and there is a golden Guarimi in the same spot where i found the others. He is laying on the rocks like he cant move.

WTF is going on with this corner of the tank! I bet he will be the next one to go.

In this corner of the tank is where the frogs stay and where I have found a snail, nothing else.
