Same song, same band different versions. This was the one released as a mono single in Jan 1966.

But this was purportedly their favorite version which was released in December 1969 as part of the Let It Bleed Album.

And since I am posting their music I may as well throw throw in two of my favorite tunes by these folks.\ from may 1972

I really like this one from 1966 a lot. One of their best early tunes.

No particular theme, just good music.

"Do Wah Diddy Diddy" is a song written by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich and originally recorded in 1963, as "Do-Wah-Diddy", by the American vocal group The Exciters. It was made internationally famous by the British band Manfred Mann.

I thought just for today I would change things a bit,. Instead of presenting music, I would throw in a bit of comedy,

This one is actually a song from 1958.

This one is one of the funnier sketches I have seen on TV by possibly the greatest female comedian of all time. It Aired in May 1952. I first saw it in reruns.

And this is one from the days of live TV and a program called "Your Show of Shoes Sept. 1953

Wow they deleted that vid fast. But lets take the long way back to music from the 50s-70s with a stop at the Playing for Change song list These are some of my favorites from that vast collection.

Cover of the Grateful Dead and some of the dead are live in this.

Or how about a Stones tune or two?

You heard the Stones do two versions of this song earlier in this thread, can we slow it down a little?

And finally, tell em Stevie sent you..... and some more slide guitar :)

Roy Kelton Orbison (April 23, 1936 – December 6, 1988) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his impassioned singing style, complex song structures, and dark, emotional ballads. Many critics described his music as operatic, nicknaming him "the Caruso of Rock" and "the Big O". .......

Orbison and Springsteen paired again to film a concert at the Cocoanut Grove nightclub in Los Angeles. They were joined by Jackson Browne, T Bone Burnett, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt, Jennifer Warnes, James Burton,[93] and k.d. lang. ...... The concert was filmed in one take and aired on Cinemax under the title Roy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White Night; it was released on video by Virgin Records, selling 50,000 copies........

On December 6, 1988, he spent the day flying model airplanes with his sons and ate dinner at his mother's home in Hendersonville. Later that day, he died of a heart attack, at the age of 52.

One of the true great voices of the 60s/70. Nobody could sing like this lady. And once again the great ones die too young.

anis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American rock, soul, and blues singer-songwriter, and one of the most successful and widely known rock stars of her era. After releasing three albums, she died of a heroin overdose at the age o f27. A fourth album, Pearl , was released in January 1971, just over three months after her death. It reached number one on the Billboard charts.
