I was at Petco a couple days ago, looking for a new betta and saw some very interesting fish that they had marked as Rummy Nose tetras. I know there are 3 different varieties based on color pattern of their nose. These fish were total weird mutants. first off, they were HUGE. They had them in a tank next to Scissor Tail Rasboras. They were the same size, about 2+" long. Their tails were striped like normal, but different. like, super intense and just odd...I can't really describe them any better than that. the most blatant oddity was they had a dark stripe that ran from their tail, to about half way up their body. Very much like this actually
Has any one ever seen this fish? It seemed like a hybrid between a true rummy nose, and this scissor tail rasbora above.
any info? They were actually REALLY striking, and I wondered if they would school with true rummy noses. Is this a new species?
