My 1850 gallon cichlid tank

That is the best the zoom will go, to take that pic I had to stand in the corner of the room. The depth of the tank is decieving , because the wall at the back is not back wall of the tank, that wall was put in there for support of the house(not happy with that b/c it is hard to get light to the back of the tank). You have to remember the whole house is reinforced concrete and it is built over the basement in my house, So the tank is part of the house.
Water changes are done by using a 700g concrete holding tank , and I use a pump to get the water up from my basement. All filters and equipment relating to the tank are in the basement as well. It usually takes about an hour to do a water change. Vacuming the gravel is the hardest and let me tell you I dont think I have done a good job on it yet.And I usually use PVC pipe to extend the lenght of everything, and use a step ladder to stand on.
As for the cost I would rather not say. The plants are from 400g planted tank.

All I can say is I've been dying to see this every since I saw your sig, and am pretty blown away now that I've seen it.

Wow...very nice tank...I love all the driftwood. That tank looks like the overgrown, on steroids version of my 55g. :bowing:

Very nice, how thick is that acrylic? :thm:

look on the bright side if you ever get sick of it, you could put a huge powerhead at one end and have an indoor lap pool.

ashdavid don't you live in japan?

If you own a house in japan that is pretty impressive........

Yeah, I do live in Japan, and you are right things are so expensive here, so having a house is a rare thing for a foreigner.Im lucky I guess.
The acrylic is 1.6 inches thick.
TorturedSOUL you read my mind, but seriously I had it built so that if something were to happen that it could be taken out. Also there is another problem over here, earthquakes and tsunami's, as if there isn't already enough to worry about.
