My 1850 gallon cichlid tank

Genki-Yo!!!!

Hearing about your tank was one thing, seeing it is entirely something else. The aquascaping is absolutely beautiful. The tank would be impressive regardless of the size, imo, because it is definately the decor that makes it so visually appealing.

I was just imagining a couple of large arowana swimming around up top...that would be an awesome aro tank.

Thanks Raskolnikov. Thats what I wanted to do make it look like something out of a river, probably a little overcrowed at the moment, but I am giving a few cichlids and catfish to some of my friends to thin the population out a little. And Slappy*McFish I am seriously considering one arowana but I would have to give a few more fish away( which is not a problem ), I am just waiting for the right time.
Nuriel, Boku mo genki yo!!!

Wow!

Your tank is awesome! You got some really nice woods to go with your VERY professional decoration there!

The tank looks better than some public aquarium exhibits! Look at your tanks, I feel like a diver in some section of the Amazon river...

Man, can you adjust shutter speed?
The fish are just moving too fast, and are just blurs...

Impressive nonetheless!

Just felt like bumping.

Did you build it, or contract to have it built or a combo? Do you have any DIY plans/pics?

I think it's all been said but that is awesome. We had a programme on here recently called "Amazon Abyss". I'm not exaggerating to say that your tank is a perfect replica of some of the lagoons they filmed in where fish like jaguar cichlids were swimming in their natural habitat. :bowing:

I had it built by the construction company that built the house. The design was mostly my ideas ,but when it came to thickness of concrete ect, that was left up to the engineer.I dont have any build pics , but I do have plans for the tank. The only problem is that like I said before the tank is actually part of the house, so it includes the house plans as well. Getting wood and gravel cleaned and doing the plumming was unbelievably time consuming, there was three of us a it took us nearly two whole days. The plants are all from my 400g planted tank which was over grown with java fern, the fish love destroying it for me.

To tell you the truth I am a little dissapointed with the pics, b/c they give no idea of the size of the tank. Even when looking at it in person , the depth is so deceving.

Maybe I will try to get someone to stand in one of the pics just so everyone can get an idea of the size. I suppose Debra and Mark have the same problem with there Pacu tank.
Thanks for all the good coments. I will try and get some pics of the fish next, but I warn you I am no good with cameras. Lol.... ;)

Gambuh-reh, ashdavid-san! (typing Japanese words doesn't come out right in English)

Keep up the good work, ashdavid!
