My 20 gallon setup

March 6th update

So after finding out what I thought was a java fern was really an amazon sword, I moved it into the substrate. And I got some new plants a while back, including real java fern.

The betta really likes hiding in the nooks and crannies of the driftwood.

Might take that rock w/ java fern out and put it in my other tank when that's up and running. Takes up too much plant space.

great job! tank looks great!

Up top, all I have is the Coralife Aqualight strip and a glass cover. I'll get a picture when I get back home. The lamps are 1x14W "ColorMax" and 1x14W 6700K, so it's 1.4 wpg. Rotala rotundifolia is growing nicely and bacopa is alive but growing slowly. Saw a new bacopa shoot the other day so it must be doing okay.

I moved my tank back home after school ended. It gave me a chance to restart my driftwood, which had overrun with clado. Also gave me a chance to re-scape and attach a few young java ferns to the piece of driftwood. I wished the driftwood wasn't so big and massive in all that I can do is rotate it 180 degrees and show the other side of it but it gives a centerpiece in the tank.

Nero (short for Habanero) the betta has since passed away. (RIP)

Currently thinking of upping the light to a Current USA 2x24W T5HO for 2.4wpg (currently 1.4wpg).

It seriously looks sparse now compared to the pictures of the tank before.

Open to suggestions on scaping and fish and plant additions. Once I have some more plants or the plants I have now grow in, I'm thinking of getting either a) another betta, b) a dwarf gourami, or c) another shoal of tetras.
