are you refering to the glass of the tank? not sure what your refering too there....if you mean the outside, then, yes, clean it..What i always do is put some glass cleaner on a cloth in a sperate room from the tank because if you spray it at the tank, particles of the cleaner are going to end up going in to the tank..which is what we DONT want...even though you have no fish in there at the moment, it gets you into good practice for when your up and running..

The only thing i am scared of is the LR set up 
. It looks like balancing rocks basicly ahaha look at it!

you do need to ensure that it is strucually sound before you start putting fish/inverts in there...if it moves when you lightly touch it or waft your hand past it, secure it...

yea I *ALWAYS* am messing around with the rock making sure it is stable. I just want to make sure my invers and fish enjoy the layout. What makes them happy makes me

about half way through the cycle is usually good but after is better...just my opinion though.
