Pressurized Co2 and actually 101 watts - 2.24 WPG. I have 2 Coralife fixtures - one is 65W x2 and the other 18 x2. Before the redo, I ran all bulbs. Since the redo, I only run the 2 x 18 and one of the 65W. No matter how heavily planted the tank was before, there was always glass algae weekly. Since I have turned it back to 2.24 WPG there has been "no" algae in the four weeks the tank has been up (knock on wood!).
I use Pfertz liquid (daily) and root tabs - the plants are responding very, very well. I also got the substrate from aquariumplants.com - seems to be working very nice!
W/ the right conditions - ferts, Co2, etc - you can grow about any plant you want at around 2WPG - IMHO!
And a pair of Pelvicachromis signatus - very excited to see them "color up" during mating ...
Also, a couple of Panda Garras to help with the clean up ...
BTW - ordered a few plants from aquariumplants.com - although they came in Florida Aquatic Nursery packaging, the plants were fantastic. Great stems and over the top portions - wow!!
Why has no one commented on this update yet!? Shame, shame :nono: Tank looks great! I have to admit I love the first scape the best but this new one looks fantastic as well!
Those cichlids & loaches are superb! :thm: But...I noticed sometime between 2-21 & 4-19 updates that the cardinals & rummy noses have disappeared.....? Where did they go and what are those orangeish blurs in there now?
