My dad's tank of death

Again not to sound harsh but it is his tank in his house and there just fish. I hate that stuff like that happens too, but im pretty sure your family is more important then some tank..Dont ruin your relationship with your family for fish,do what ya can,and hope for the best..

when there are only a few fish in there one day and he isnt there, id remove the fish, break the tank, and tell him the fish died when the tank broke. blame the broken tank on a dog or cat (if you have one) or old age/silicon problems. and sell the removed fish or keep them for one of YOUR tanks.

Among other things, I'd start making some of the sicker fish (like the paradise) mysteriously "dissapear" a few days at a time. That tank sounds so horrible that he probably wouldn't notice or care if his fish died and were eated/decomposed before he found them. With the fish you rescue, if you have the ressources, nurse them back to health or give them to a reliable fish store or hobbyist.

Nobody on AC should be saying "just fish". I wouldn't let any of my family mistreat and kill people, or dogs, or fish. Do I react to the same extent to fish as to if it were a person? No, but I do put a stop to it. I don't see where cruelty fits into a loving family situation, really.

The problem I see is it sounds like there's no point in removing fish if the person just buys new ones every time something goes wrong.
exactly the reason for the tank to break by "incident"

Ok here the deal "There Just Fish" refers to the fact he lives at home with his parents. Is he ready to move out on his own and support himself. If He gives his Dad enough stress over a fish tank maby he can get tossed out of the house and find out what things are really important in life. Food ,shelter and family, living on the streets over an aquarium is stupid. I guess i was raised with a tad more respect for my familys posessions. If i broke something of my parents ,i worked for money to replace it..Again this is just my opinion, and everyone is free to have a different one..
