My first big girl tank!

Well i know i won't be going salt, lol. And before I could plant it the lights would need a serious upgrade, I haven't looked at them closely, but its safe to say they would be below low light. So I need heater, filtration, upgraded lights (if going planted), and substrate. All these things for a 120g are a bit pricier than for my smaller tanks. I don't have any tanks even close to the size of this tank so seeding media will be done, but I am sure it will be insufficient for the tank size unless I stock very very very slowly and don't get any big fish (as my largest fish right now is a sterbai cory, lol, and shrimp don't have much of a bioload). Regardless, my shrimp and snails are on the treadmill and I am willing the baby brigs to grow so i can rehome them and get some of the supplies for the tank. Thanks for all the great suggestions, I am really torn which way to go, but will be sure to keep the thread updated as it progresses.

Oscars would be awesome, or a BIG reef, or a cichlid community. What type of water do you have?

I love my oscars and I only have a 100G for them /slightly jealous!!

Oscars really are wet puppy dogs. They crack me up daily.

Congrats on your tank, it is lovely!

Thanks, I am SUPER excited about it. I have been looking for a biggish tank for a couple of years now, its really difficult to find anything above 55g around my area used. Now that I have it, I am a bit overwhelmed with what to do with it, lol, too many possibilities of too many things I have wanted. I need 3 more of them!

Get an Arapaima! 10-12 feet of scales and awesomeness :D
Oh..right, Oscars are cool too!

Well, picked up a 120g tonight with stand and lights. Have a long road until I set it up. And rest assured, it will not be for shrimp and snails ;) Any suggestions on what I should stock it with? Here is the pic right off the truck, needs some cleaning, but has huge potential.
