The shipping alone should probably have been $20 or perhaps more, and with each fish between...oh, I don't know...$5-7, they would have had a hard time selling what are probably somewhat common fish in metro areas.

They could've shipped flat rate medium or large box if that was the issue. With regular poly bagging water is not as important as o2 volume.

I can only speculate on why a large fish in a small breather bag fails, but my best guess is that there isn't enough water volume for that size fish, and either the water quality deteriorated rapidly due to toxins in the water, or just the lack of the breather bag exchanging gases fast enough.

The thing was the breather bag was doubled up. Breather bags cant breathe if its doubled up. So the fish would of actually died from drowning. Which is better then dying from the major ammonia spike it would of faced in there.

Still trying to be the better person. Hope they agree to the offer on the table. You paid for a breeding pair though not a Female and juvies who are barely clinging on. It's nothing you asked for. Juvies even if they do survive are no guarantee that they will be one male and one female and even if they are they might not bond. I would of asked for the 12.50. Just my 2 cents
 
Just to update, the seller issued me a $10 refund last night so it's a done deal. This was just a very unfortunate experience, for the both of us and for the fish. They have made things right so I am not going to be leaving any negative feedback. Hopefully one of the juvies will turn out to be male and I'll end up with a breeding pair, otherwise I'm going to try and hunt one down somewhere.
 
Gabe, breather bags can actually be double bagged. I had a friend who shipped guppy and swordtail from MI to Texas with 3 day shipping in breather bags. I helped him pack each one and I clearly remember double bagging them. As I recall everyone made it safely. Sorry today it's my turn to blow your ego ;)

Lab I'm glad to here that everything went well! As Gabe stated mike will be sending Cutteri to all of us AC members who wish to grab some hahahahaha! Hope I'm not putting words in his mouth!
 
Mike said he would give anyone who wanted Cutteri from his pairs for free all we pay is shipping.

Also breather bags say not to double bag since this prevent the bag from being able to breathe. Not bursting my ego one bit bro lol nobody here has that power over me. LOL.
