My New Stendker Discus Have Arrived!

I paid for 2 1/2" fish, but I think Hans misread the labels on the tanks because they seem a bit larger than that.

Hans and most other reputable breeders will go by the SL measuring system, which doesn't include the length of the tail. The TL measuring system includes the length of the tail. You got 2 1/2" SL fish or probably 3"+ TL fish.

I think it's better to sell them the way they do simply because when customers receive them they feel like they got more for their money and they are happy and will repeat business. Hans has some nice fish and he will take care of you if you order through him.

Thanks BS,I normally measure without the tail as well, and these guys are still big.

They are still very active and out most of the day. I had been told they may get lost in such a big tank, but they are front and center when ever I go over to the tank. They school from one end to the other. It is absolutely breath taking. I can't wait till they get bigger and do this. They seem to like my sword plant that I have on one end of the tank. They don't hide behind it. I feed at both ends and they like the food on the large leaves. What really makes it nice is they all pick a different leaf. I haven't had any battles for food so far. They have been doing a little pushing at other than eating time, but I imagine it is pecking order. I have been keeping up with params daily and doing 20%ish water changes daily. My nitrates are continuing to stay around 5. PH steady at 7.8. So all seems to be well in their world.

Good to hear! now we need more pics

My BIG guys just sit still in my tank and look for me to feed them - the smaller ones are ALL over the place!

YA for Pics!

Awwwww...lookit the itty bitty pointy faces.

Looks like they're exploring the jungle.
