Man, this betta is really confusing me. I cannot seem to figure out what is wrong with him. Right before Thanksgiving, I noticed his belly was a little swollen and he had a white patch on his dorsal fin. I did a lot of research and figured that it was some sort of fin rot. I did some aquarium salt baths and eventually it went away. His belly swell never went away. I just kept getting worse. At this point, he hadn't eaten in over a week. He seemed to just have a swollen belly with no "pineconing" so I was giving him 2 epsom salt baths a day for about 6 days with nothing helping. He hasn't gotten any better. Then, i noticed that the underside of his belly looks to be a strange color. Its kind of a greenish brown duo chrome color (sorry, thats the only way i can think to describe it). This evening i walk in to check on him and he now has a white patch on his head that almost looks like his scales are peeling. His gills are pretty red and his fins are clamped. He is exhibiting symptoms of every Betta disease in the book. Also, he hasn't eaten a thing since before Thanksgiving so no bowel movements either. Is it time to put him out of his misery? I hate to give up on him but I don't think either of us can take much more. I have only been using Epsom and Aquarium salt as treatments until last night i just ran to Petsmart and found some Marineland all in one tablets. I started using those last night and also added 11/2 tsp. Epsom salt to the tank along with 2 drops of Prime and some Jungle Start right. His aquarium is a small 1.2 gallon Natural Geographic Half moon Aqua Oasis. Can someone please tell me where to go from here? I also have the top fin betta aquarium heater. His water is reading 75 degrees right now. I did a water change this morning and turned off the filter because it seemed to be blowing his fins around too much. Anyone with any suggestions...?
