Had to change the light on my 10g (a light conked out on another tank, so I had to take the 10g long bar light and give the 10g the smaller clip on light. So I scaped it to better fit the light space.

Surprisingly, my new L448 pleco actually comes out during lights on, which I did not expect.

My juvie pseudomugil gertrudae that I raised from hatching. Hoping to breed more of these lovelies. Short lifespan, so I'm hoping to keep a colony going.

Thanks for the rasbora pic, Noodle! Your other fish & tanks look good as usual. Your bucephalandras (or ae? eh?) are especially nice.
I love my buce, it's such a good plant.
I have a couple kinds: sp red, wavy green, lamadau red, and kedagang. Kedagang though is by far my favourite of the ones I have. It's got such nice color and it grows like a weed. I split this bunch when I got it with a local friend, and my half has grown so much I've been able to sell 3 stems of it as well!

Kedagang (wavy green below lower left, then anubias mini kirin below right)

sp red. Quiet little one. It doesn't grow as speedy as kedagang, but it offers a nice dense growth in comparison.

Another unusual plant ive fallen in love with: staurogyne sp bihar! Its in my 10g but i was hesitant on it at first because i killed staurogyne repens, but i gave it a shot and in that plant order it has been the only one of the plants that thrived for me. And its rather beautiful. Has leaves similar to hygrophila pinnatifida, but it doesn't die on me like that one does too. Grows very well and it looks very different compared to most stem plants. Unlike staurogyne repens, it grows tall though. I was so sure it was not gonna do well for me, as a few plant folks say it's iffy as it needs good light at the very least to thrive. And it's not very common to get. But I'm glad I took the chance on it.

And my L448 came out again. Every evening around 5pm he starts coming out and about. I'm shocked that he isn't so shy at all. Everyone I've heard from who's had clowns say they barely see them much in the day or out in the open. I was so sure I'd add him to the tank and just never see him again lol

TY for the buce pics & names. Most of mine were given with a vague a brownie something, or1 of the big buces. 1 actually came in a bag with the name "mini" purple & 1 I call buce on a stick that never seems to grow much if at all but hasn't died either.

That new staurogyne is pretty cool! I had s. repens grow well in a 20 long for a while until I moved it.

I remember looking your plec up & comparing it to p. maccus on PC before. I had to do it again today. I've had clowns a few times over the years & none approached 3.5 inches. Most were fairly nocturnal or at least crespucular. 1 was more day active, maybe we fed earlier? Ours were pretty long lived for smaller fish 11 years for 1, 9 before being rehomed. Anyway your guy is cute, I'm glad he comes out for you. I'll be interested to know if he actually reaches 4.3 inches eventually.

Me too, but Shane on planet cat and Shane's world believes he's L448. A lot of the panaqolus look similar to me so I opted to verify him. I've not had this genus before, but I do like them. He's got a ton of different kinds of woods to chew, many botanicals and leaves. I supply many softer woods like basswood too. So many choices for him.

I feed in the evening, maybe 10-15 minutes before lights go off, to give the more nocturnal fish a chance to get food before its all eaten, so around 8:45-8:50pm they get fed, as lights are off at 9pm.
3pm they come on, 9 pm they go off.

Little L448 comes out around 5pm lol

I think yours arrives early in case of early appetizers before dinner, lol. We always had some type of wood but I'm not sure how much any nibbled on it.

I don't remember any of ours having "body bristles" (odontodes) anywhere. PC doesn't say females are smaller, maybe a regional size? I only remember 1 being at all "chubby" in a girly way.

Some of the genus are very small, and many look similar to one another, could have even been one of the other species that stay smaller.

Maybe, they were all called clown plecos & a similar smallish 1.5+ or 2 inch size at most at purchase, over ~30 years! They grew but not a lot, maybe 2.5 in but not quite 3 inches as I recall. Most we kept were before anybody paid attention to collection locations. We also never had more than 1 at a time...since they might fight. Little did we understand that many of our fish might breed! So much more info on many of our fish available...& more fish! Like sarawakensis rasboras, lol & more loaches & plants now too! No wonder we love this hobby!! Always stuff to learn about!!

Even then today many fish are still mislabeled or just misidentified too. Most stores label all panaqolus as clowns, because the most common is commonly called clown. Mine was sold as a clown too. Either way I don't mind.

He's in with my L240 and my ancistrus bodenhameri pair, he minds his own business but it seems like the bodenhameri pair aren't fans if they see him. Which is surprising because they get along great with the L240.

I'm still insisting that r. sarawakensis should be more prominent in the hobby because it's such a good fish, much better than the more common harlequin rasboras lol
