Now don't you dis my harleys, lol, I love them & always have. OK, I might love espei just a bit more. & red tail rasboras are extremely underrated, but my heart, at least lately, belongs to your rasbora sarawakensis. Yes, they should be more prominent in our hobby...(& don't be mad) but they should also be less expensive than $9/per fish...maybe in a few years? I'm just saying...or maybe I'm just fickle...or too cheap? Meh!

I like my harlies too, don't get me wrong haha. I've got the purple colour morph of them, they're good fish. More active than some tetras. But they also get pretty funny shaped as they get older 🤣

They're in my blackwater tank, since I've only got the 4 left (a couple randomly vanished, I suspect to jumping through the filter gap because I never found evidence of them) so I moved them to the tank with the older fish who are reducing in number as they age out. I joke and call it my tank of retirement lol

Rescaped the blackwater 55g

Had the opportunity to take a check up of the L240. He's doing good, wasn't a fan of being handled. Has some gnarly teeth
Anyone wanna stick your finger in his mouth? It folds like a bear trap.

10g really booming. The staurogyne sp bihar is so nice, becoming a favorite plant of mine.

Wow, I didn't think plecos did that big yawn mouth except for attached to a surface. Great shot! I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to let him suck on my finger or any other place, eek! I have been bitten by some fish, cichlids especially & some tetras & barbs. They seemed to think arm hair looked like worms. My husband, being much hairier, got the worst of that, lol.

I LOVE your stauro "bihar" & ALL your bucies! Awesome pics!! Of course all your fish look great! I forget the rainbows, gertruidae or similar? Pretty! (not to be too critcal, but is Patch ok? His fins seem shortened, tail & dorsal mostly. Did he have health issues before? I don't remember...sorry)

Patch is okay, he is just unfortunately a fin biter. His big ol fins weigh him down so he bites them short 🙃 not a lot I can do to stop him but monitor and make sure no infection happens. He's been doing pretty decent with that at least though.

And yeah I wasn't gonna stick my finger in Snowflake's mouth lol didn't wanna be chomped.

And yes the rainbows are gertrudae, love the little guys. They make really fun fish to keep.

Oh, I know bettas do that sometimes. I didn't remember Patch did :( Makes me wonder just how he can reach his dorsal well enough to get it short like that. Just grab & rip? Have you seen him do that? It must not hurt him too very much...

Makes me think of when I had bangs & wanted to grow them out. They'd drive me absolutely bonkers & I would whack them off in a snit. No actual physical damage though.

His dorsal got surprisingly long, longer than I've seen on many bettas. So it doesn't surprise me he's managed lol.

I think next betta I'd like a short fin again. But not a guarantee.

I pick bettas by gut feeling. Look at the cups and just see which individual feels right.

We did that for betta choosing back in our old betta days....but there were many fewer types to choose from. We kept 1 blue 1 at home & husband had a red at his uni office...We did breed them once (with females of course, lol)...but didn't raise any fry for long. I think it was our blue boy, he had the fuller fins. White tipped red pectorals, so pretty! Funny, I don't remember the females, I think there were 2 different 1s we tried.

Picked me up some shrimp, did a trade for some shrimp with my red moss.
Got mix of orange and reds. Some rilis.
They're in my little 4 gallon.

I like the really white orange rili the most, he's so cute.

My last population died out after my badis ate them all except a few old ladies, and then the last batch of babies were all male lol.

Joker the ram, can you believe he's going on 4 years now??? I got him in 2020. Time flies.

This is Miss Wiggles, the corydoras aeneus I took in from a lady who needed help after becoming unable to care for her tank any further. She's got a genetic defect, but it doesn't seem to bother her.
1000123034.jpg

One of my younger aeneus. This is a great grandchild off my original group of aeneus.
