My tanks

So pretty! Love the black fins coming in on your betta ;)

Uhhhhhh cyano. It rears its ugly head in my tanks on occasion. Particularly if i'm late with a WC or I accidentally over feed. But generally I've been able to keep it under control and with lots of maintenance, I can keep it away. Like my 5.5g got it in the floating plants once or twice because the light is so close to the plants. But it doesn't return if I keep it 'tidy'.

Actually if i'm trying to rid the cyano, the floating plants like water lettuce collect it in their roots. Really easy to toss out lettuce and replace it with some good pieces from a tank i'm over supplied with anyway. It's a method I use to get rid of it.

Man I sound like a lazy fish keeper, but I don't redo my tanks very often lately and just keep trying to work with what I have. For the most part I don't fret anymore with cyano.

Given that its a very small system, not chancing it so just redid it all. A larger tank would be easier to just maintain. But smaller tanks are harder to balance. Ive not had cyano before.

As for overfeeding, my bettas are the most control fed. Since theyre just the individual fish in the tanks, theyre easy to targetfeed a specific amount of food each day. Both only get 5 betta pellets each, or about 3-4 mysis shrimp once per day. Just enough that it rounds their tummies but not enough to bloat. So overfeeding wouldnt be the cause, id think.

I changed the background, thinking brown balances best. I may change back, still thinking.

And i rescaped my 10g today too. Hoping the leaf litter brings the pygmy cories out of hiding more. In this photo, all 10 of them are behind the sponge filter lol

I love all your tanks but particularly the pygmy cory tank. I love the wood sculpt and placement and the nice natural looking stems behind the driftwood and tapering to a nice open beachy area for the cories.

Oh and I totally agree with revamp in the small tank. I just don't know it infects the tanks, maybe it does. Maybe it's just a nice concoction of parameters and conditions that make it thrive. I do think if it is something that is introduced, it has to have conditions that encourage its growth and good water quality keeps it better outcompeted. I totally understand taking every opportunity to redo the tanks right now lol.

Love that bouquet of amazon sword in the back!
Theres about 4 plants back there. I know 2 are bleheri for sure. One is a slightly smaller one, when i got it it had red blotches on the leaves which i think isnt a bleheri thing... the other i dont know. It grew from a plantlet. The original plant was so damaged the store sold it to me on discount and its grown back lol
